I didn't know that insurance deal thing. You can get old Capri's with 3.0 engines in them, and cost **** all to insure. think

its not as simple as basing it on the car it came from or people would be using highpower engines in all sorts, its based on thew car its from. the car it goes into bodywise and then how reliable the car is and also the repairs will cost more as only specialist garages will work on it. so your insurance goes up as you also have to get it independantly checked and a report filed to make sure it passes all the tests. then you have to inform all the relevent bodies, unsure if there is any charges for it.

i lukkd into droppin 1.4 gt lump into my 5. it aint all that easy. quite a few insurance companys wuddnt touch me because of the engine transplant/ modifications required, (bigger brakes). its sad but i gotta say id luk at new car b4 engine swap.

i think it depends. If for example shreks engine died a death and i fitted the 90PS 1.6 escort engine i would pay a 1.6 premium + mods. But if the engine was the V6 cossie engine outta the scorpio cossie then the premium wud be custom
