Whilst out driving i suddenly lost power, the engine didn't cut out but i couldn't accelerate at all. i pulled over and re-started the car which seemed to work. Does any one have a clue as to wot caused it and whether i should get a proper check over. The only thing ive done to the car is a new back box and had a silencer removed!? <img border="0" alt="doh" title="" src="graemlins/cwemotions051.gif" />

Send him a pm or search for his post, it was 4 weeks ago now he had the problem when leaving the meet when we done the fun convoy...

tbh i would suspect fuelling too.

I got a problem with the nova atm that leaves it losing all power then *cuts*. leave it a minute and it starts again. Is a bit of a puzzler but tbh we are blaming the diaphragm in the fuel pump. We think it may have developed a *TINY* split which is bleeding air into the fuel line thus cutting off fuel supply.

does any form of engine managment light come on or the car start to lose power gradually? does it seem reluctant to rev before dying all together? etc etc etc

also any co-inciding factors if its happened more than once?

thanks

Distributor? Mine did this a couple of years ago. Exactly the same, replaced the cap and rotor arm and it was sorted. Got a light up as well, just checked the diz and found the problem.
