Okay my escort is misfiring like a biatch....i know the fuel pressure is set way way off what it should be, and once its back to standard setting (hopefully tomorrow) then i will replace the spark plugs and HT leads....but if this doesn't remedy the problem then what would be the next step?

Could be one of maaaannny things, but usually it'll be sorted with leads and plugs. If your plugs are totally sooted up, that should give an indication. Check the compression in each cylinders for differences, could be gasket.

I think you have found the problem, adjust the fuel pressure to the correct level and then re-asses your problem.

Well ive had idle problems for a while and then recently it starting misfiring, the Idle control valve was sorted on friday with a brand new valve fitted.

The only problem now is that its misfiring, i know that the fuel pressure could be at any setting atall, god knows what it is because a certain garage decided to play about with it without a guage and without consulting me 1st, otherwise i would have said to leave it.....just wondering could this likely be the problem or be contributing to it?
