looking into getting some bigger brakes and have been offered these for £50,

discs pads and callipers

black diamond discs and pads although the pads havent got much life left,

is that a good deal, will it fit onto my corsa allright, my corsa is a 1996 1.4 sport

also, a mate had offered to fit them for £20, is that good

U dont say what size they are, what car they came off,and what car they are MADE for.

They can be fitted by urself.Maybe do it at the rock with a few people to help, its been done before. You should always renew pads and discs together. Best just to get a brand new set urself imo. And if ur wanna upgrade fit a set of astra units (if they'll go)

Or how about this crazy idea get it done at a garage, is it worth pissing about with brakes!

Al. Doing it at the rock was not a "please do it this way" it was a "it can be done and im sure people will help as theyre there" Plus. Its hardly pissing about putting discs and pads on. Caliper removal-ok-make sure thats done proper but discs and pads could be done by an 11 year old after one tuition change.Hardly rocket science

sorry forgot to put the size of disks,

currently on my corsa, 236x20mm
the astra ones iam thinking of putting on are 256x24mm, quite a big difference

Thatll use a different caliper and need the caliper mount somehow modified wont it? Best get someone experienced to do it. This guy offerin 20 quid is a good price and if hes done this conversion on a corsa before then itll be fine for him to do them.

If hes not done the conversion before then get a garage to do it to make sure the caliper is mounted firmly and the brakes bled properly

yeah, iam getting the calipers and caliper cariers with them, my mate is a mechanic so no what he is doing, well i think he does, lol, he has just done two engine conversions, so i think he will no what hes doing

Sounds like a bargain matey happy

If the pads are from the original donor car complete with the discs then they should be fine to use.

Allot of the Vauxhall mounting points are the same so it sounds like they MAY simply bolt straight into place happy

This has been done before, it was our dazza that done it, and a grand job he done too

Click too see......

Sanchez your wrong, my fiesta has worn wishbone bushes and I knew that anyway not the brakes tease

Does sound like a bargin, if you need a hand give me a shout as I did a brake conversion on the escort (Swapped for V6 Mondeo brakes) and if I can source the carriers I can finish my fiesta one (4X4 Cosworth conversion)

If the caliper and disk fitment are the same its a nice cheap upgrade.

However, if the caliper mount is different, and the disk is a different stud pattern, you could spend over £100 getting mounting brackets made up frown

Apparently though, Vectra disks and calipers are a direct fit wink

they shud jus bolt stight on am shure that nearly all the vauxhall capilar mounts are the same ive got the v6 capilars on mine with the 288mm disksshud get some nice braded hoses while ur in there as well

Not forgetting seized threads, small working spaces, and bleeding the brakes (the worst part I think!!). This surely doubles the time.
