Posted By: Anonymous Re: Dazza's New engine DONE! - 7th Sep 2004 10:08am
daz took me for a spin in it last night an WOW laugh

grin factor is amazing for the price it cost, for the same money he could of bought some cams an gained maybe 7-9 bhp? but for the same money he's got about 50% gain in power an you really do feel it laugh

i shall be selling my engine at some point in the future to fund this conversion laugh

MrAdam, yours should be a hell of a lot easier as you already have an early zetec lump in there.

Looking at possibly a puma 1.7 lump to go in mine at some stage.

Meesh, you want a turbo in it lol

Yeah i was just about to suggest that, arnt you supposed to inform the DVLA?

You dont know who could be reading a topic that could be suggesting fraud.

daz's would of been easier if;
- his first mechanics wife didnt go into labour
- he hadn't lost the alternator bracket
- he'd of just taken it to bigcos in the first place

in theory its easy to do, but any problems could come up such as the overfuelling one that daz has, possibly putting a 2.0 ECU may fix it, think it's trial and error about finding the right solution though

smile

Wouldnt mind lining up to you on the 1/4 mile at the next car show.

Fancy it?
Posted By: Dazza Re: Dazza's New engine DONE! - 15th Sep 2004 9:43am
Sure do Ax125. My next mod is a full exhaust rather than the cat-back I got now. Will have to see Scooby about it tho! Rob whats your BHP and 0-60? With mine not running as smooth as it should my 0-60 is 7.9 (only done 1 timed trial)
Posted By: AX_125 Re: Dazza's New engine DONE! - 15th Sep 2004 9:56am
Got about 125-130 BHP from a standard engine, will do 60 in about 8.5 i think.

Not going to have money to mod it for a while, so i will have to rely on weight saving for now.

im sooooooo jealous. that thing must go like **** off a shovel
Posted By: AX_125 Re: Dazza's New engine DONE! - 15th Sep 2004 10:29am
What BHP you hoping for Daz?

Luckily, the cars i am challenging on the 1/4 mile should (in theory) all be faster than mine, so if i can win/come close at least once i will be happy.

My challenges are

Your 2.0l ford
Paz VTR/VTS conversion
Pug 306 3.0 V6.

Good luck to me.

Got b@alls anyway. My engine is the Si engine which is 136BHP rather than the standard 128BHP, so it will be slightly less PLUS its got fueling probs. Bare in mind I got 17's. Should be good.

Oh and MikeSXI's sisters 1.8 corsa raced me 2 times and I lost by a few steps - Me thinks its cos he has traction control, mine just wheel span at 1st - oh and its 150BHP.

I just lost by a quater of a car against mike`s sisters car on three occasions, but i think i could compete a lot better now... wink
