Anyone know which common cars come with electric power steering pumps? Looking to get one on the jeep but there's no room for a belt-driven pump. Cheers

Hmm I have no idea but dont expect it to be the average 'everyday' car. Get in contact with a motorfactors such as LVW Senars (0151 666 2000) or Partco (0151 647 7891) they are both located on Cleveland street in Birkenhead (Near Corpo road) and will be able to help you!

I can use a vitara power steering box, there's just no-where for the vitara pump to go in. Surely there's a car about which came with electric power steering that i can just go down to the scrappy and rip apart? None of the SJ's/Samurai's came with power steering scoop, mine's top of the range and boasts a radio cassette player and automatic choke as standard lol.

Just get's a bit tricky when the wheels are stuck in ruts and you wanna wind the wheel over, especially having 31x10.5" tyres! I'll be getting some 33x12.5" tyres on in the coming few months so deffinately gonna need it for then.

Or get one from a modern Corsa, it's a bit in the middle of the steering shaft and has a motor on the side. It has a fair few wires as it has a seperate ECU to register speed and stiffness of the steering, but you don't really need this, just 12v igntion and earth (the ECU is attached anyway).
If you're interested, there's been a green Corsa in Cheshire Car Components which is on River Lane in Saltney (you outside Chester city centre). It has the electric steering column in if you want to have a look at it, it's exposed and everything.

That's interesting, thanks mate, may have a look. Also found out that some saxo's have electric pas, I can pick up a pump for £20-£60 depending on whether i wanna go fishing around a complete car at a scrappys or not. Cheers for all the help people smile
