I'm thinking of changing my car and gettin a 1.8 corsa. however, i don't want it to be like all of the others, so i wondering about gettin a turbo fitted to it. Does anyone know or have an idea on how much it would cost and how much work would be involved?

not sure if they do an off the shelf conversion, either way ur lookin 5k plus,3k for lo boost but by that it means u dont get an intercooler or special pistons. May be better to get an engine transplant for the cally tubby 2.0

Am sure it wouldnt be a mega hard converion considering they make a Calibra turbo, you can use most the parts of that.
Get in touch with a specialists but I dont recommend using the 1.8 as the base engine, may as well go the full length and get the 2.0

yes but if it is the corsa c which i think it is the 2.0 turbo can be done but people have had alot of trouble with the conversion only 1 or 2 have bin done they have alot of problems with the ecu u have to run the 2.0 turbo ecu out of the car an the corsa c ecu but the conversion from regal will give a slightly higher bhp than the 2.0 cav engine an these are hard to cum buy now with out haveing to pay an arm an a leg u will also need the 6 speed box with dont come cheep up to £400 pound a time

Corsa 1.6 turbo comes out this year!.. wait for that!

Ok the corsa 1.8 is 125 bhp standard which isnt to bad for a corsa. its not worth buying a strap on kit for it you would be better off going the whole hog. you cant put a calibra or cavalier engine in (c20let) as the new vauxhall engines are electronic and it would take a lot of work. your best bet is get an astra GSI engine from a mk4 astra which is the Z20LET engine and will fit perfectly. I think its courtney who do the conversion for £5000.00 including the engine which will be brand new.

Or as Gazza says wait for the corsa VXR (OPC) comes out which is a 1.6 turbo and produces 160BHP. still a lot lower than the 201bhp from the astra GSI.

Personally i would just stick wit the 1.8 for now as 125bhp isnt to bad really. then save up and buy an astra coupe turbo or an astra coupe 888.
