number 5 or 6 definitely, which ever one you choose just make sure it looks tons better than the sunbed place's one because that looks well good and needs to be nocked off top spot
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Cruisewirral Transit Custom Van - 31st Jul 2004 2:08pm
Transit No. 4 i would go for
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Cruisewirral Transit Custom Van - 31st Jul 2004 3:40pm
a mixture i think ! number one but not the green ! have the silver colour flag thing ! don't have the vinyls on the bottom like mom and that but keep the big fast carz bit in the middle ! have the alloys off the transit 5 and u have the perfect transit ! i tried makinbg it but don't have photoshop and it was taking years in paint so i thought i wud describe instead !
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Cruisewirral Transit Custom Van - 31st Jul 2004 3:42pm
and maybe cruiseiwrral or just a big CW on the bonnet too ! wyd look well smart !

However some muppet of a company i deal with has let me down on the alloy wheels. They did send them out but the fitment was incorrect.......

Now i am back to square one, Doooohhhh... <img border="0" alt="doh" title="" src="graemlins/cwemotions051.gif" />

I am currently designing an adapter plate to fit onto the Transit hub allowing me to directly bolt on Vauxhall Fitment alloy wheels <img border="0" alt="[are u mad]" title="" src="graemlins/cwemotions050.gif" />

I am Looking at either 17" or 18" Alloys.

I have enclosed some images of the alloys that are available that will fit onto the new adapter plate once i have had them made.

Need your advice peeps, What alloys to go for....

Matrix or Pro Race

The Mantis' only look decent on big, lowered cars which have big painted calipers and brakes in my oppinion. saw a set on a Corsa the other day and thought it just looked wrong, no offence, but think they would look just as bad on a Transit

Matrix for the Chrome finish

or Pro Race for the chunky lovers <img border="0" alt="[laff my ass off]" title="" src="graemlins/cwemotions042.gif" />

3 word one looks better on the pics as I reckon the white sponser text crowds it, though that prob wont look so bad on the actualy thing, so 3 or 1.

Just a quick update on the Cruisewirral Van :

  • DVD Headunit fitted

  • 7" TFT Screen fitted into the dash

Mod's coming real soon :

  • 800w Amp

  • 2 X 10" subs in Nice Sub Box

  • New 6x9 Speakers in built in custom enclosure

  • Projector build into custom enclosure

  • 4 foot X 4 foot Projector Screen

  • Playstation with wireless controllers

  • 2 X Inflatable couches

  • 18 or 19" Alloys

  • Possibly an Engine conversion

I would love to have this done in time for the Nationals but my poorly impreza is taking all my spare time right now....

I Need an engineering company to make me some wheel adapters for the new wheels Click here to view the topic...........

Okay peeps, its summer time once again so time to start Modifying the vehicles, well, the Cruisewirral Van anyways happy

Its looking a little tired nowadays so i am looking to give it a new lease of life.

In the pipeline is
  • 3.0 V6 engine transplant

  • 16" Alloy Wheels

  • Some Fresh Paint

  • Maybe a Bodykit

  • Dropped 3 - 4 inches

As it looks now :

[Linked Image]

BUT Look [Linked Image]

Its hopefully going to look like this :

[Linked Image]

Complete with this sitting under the bonnet :

[Linked Image]

I have just bought a Donor vehicle with the 2993 EFi engine ready to be transplanted happy

What everyone think and im am looking for more suggestions as to what i can do to the Van
Posted By: scoop Re: Cruisewirral Transit Custom Van - 18th Apr 2006 4:00pm
Isnt that the same engine as in the XR4. Come to think of it,didnt u have a bust-ass XR4 the other month, and then tupac broke it for spares or somethin. That cudda been a cheap engine for ya.

Recomendations from me mate

Fit the V6 and get a nice exhaust on it (maybe a rear exiter?)
Rally paintsceme and graphics,or respray PROPER CW blue and yellow with a cool as hell graphics design on it
Get a custom bodykit not OTT but just nice shaped.
Sort the back part of interior out (if its possible cos u wont wanna put tools etc in the back once uve given it shagpile)
Posted By: Johnny Alan Re: Cruisewirral Transit Custom Van - 18th Apr 2006 6:55pm
I found these for the trany
http://www.body-kit.co.uk/acatalog/ford_transit_lighting.html

I would only fit the engine if its cheap and has more torque than the old one cause from the sound of the problem thats what your after. Maybe a second hand body kit made to fit eg choped and streched ( pete did my skitrt like this and did a great job). Deffinatley the rims though they will make the big difference.
Posted By: Scooby Re: Cruisewirral Transit Custom Van - 18th Apr 2006 8:26pm
It has allot more BHP & Torque (Almost double) than the diesel unit.

I will have some nice pipes on it also, sounding sweet (Obviously)

I have seen the lights on e-bay and you can get the angel eyes headlamps also but i dont want to spend big money oin a old van. Just want the freshen her up a bit.....
Posted By: Johnny Alan Re: Cruisewirral Transit Custom Van - 18th Apr 2006 10:40pm
I know what you mean, thats a gud sign of old age lol. I would just do the engine if you feel you will benefit from it and for looks get the bumpers colour coded and alloy maybe tints aswell.
Posted By: scoop Re: Cruisewirral Transit Custom Van - 19th Apr 2006 2:13pm
Got a idea for a colour,If ur goin for a re-spray u may as well pick a colour that looks good and hides dirt well, and u cant do much better than fords very own

Imperial blue! dark blue cars hide dirt very well, and as its a transvestite u know it aint gonna get washed often
Posted By: spinking Re: Cruisewirral Transit Custom Van - 19th Apr 2006 7:46pm
MAD.

If you look at last months fast ford (maybe months before ) there was a transit smaller wheels base one with a cossie engine init and 6 bucket seats and it looked sweet so get the van thing going because its not what you see all the time and would make a nice change.

Back when i used to race hotrods (banger raceing to everybody else) the one of the lads did the 2.9 conversion in his transit and it went like stink wheel span alot thought.

GOODLUCK MATEY thumbsup
