Brief Description of what this young lady has done
I have always wanted to own a Peugeot 106 GTI. After saving the money to get one the hunt was on to find a low milage model, preferably S Reg and it had to be China Blue.To be honest the search took longer then expected. It took approximatly five months to track one down that matched all the criteria.I finally found an S Reg Model in China Blue with 23,000 Miles on the clock, I bought it for £6K, it was immaculate. To be honest it looked great from the start but within 3 months it was lowered 35mm with Ecosse Lowering Springs, had a set of 16” Fox 6 Alloys and was kitted out with a Full Stainless Piper Duplex Exhaust System, it was one of the first in the country.By that time it was the Summer and the Show Season had really kicked off. I joined the Peugeot Sport Official Owners Club and took the car to Castle Combe, PUGFEST and TRAX.My overall goal was to get a Magazine Feature and to get a car that was exactly what I wanted that stood out from the crowd.

So whilst visiting various shows I looked for inspiration from other peoples cars. Not one to want to copy I wanted to create something bright and different. I decided that I wanted to go for an Full Ecosse Bodykit as the products they supplied were good quality and looked great! I also decided to fit a set of 17” Chrome wheels as Chrome was just taking off and 17s were the biggest wheels I would be able to fit on the car if it was going to be drivable! The car already had a great Exhaust system so I didn’t have to worry about that. I decided that I would change the Front Headlights for Morette Quads and add an Ecosse Bonnet bulge to give the car a more aggressive look to the front End. I also planned to smooth the car out removing the door locks, de-badging the car, de-locking/smoothing the boot and removing the Bonnet Badge.

The next and most important change to the car was the Colour. I couldn’t believe that after 5 months of looking for a car in China Blue I was going to completely change it! One of my friends told me that he had a friend, Ken who was just starting up his own Custom Spraying Business called AIRBRUSHINK (www.Airbrushink.co.uk) In Cleavedon. We discussed various things that could be done to the car from a glitter/flake finish to more elaborate colours. Ken explained that he used House of Kolor paint which was also used in both of The Fast and The Furious Films. I instantly thought of the Pink Honda S2000 from the second film, 2 Fast 2 Furious. The colour was bright and different and would be perfect for my 106. Crushed Glass was added to the Hot Pink Colour to give the Car a Glitter Finish. The car was to be painted both inside the Door Shuts and Boot and all the windows had to be removed.

After deciding the final colour I took the car away and fit all of the Bodykit, Mirrors, Lights and Spoiler and bring the car back to him in two weeks time. I went away and with loads of help from my boyfriend and his friends we fitted everything to the car. We even had to cut and smooth an additional hole in the Rear Bumper for the Duplex Exhaust.

Two weeks later I took the car back to be sprayed. The work included Stripping the car down of all the Kit, Lights, Mirrors, Bonnet and Tailgate etc. Then the car had to be rubbed down and primed. Also during the process of the Spraying the Doors and Boot were De-locked and smoothed. The badge was removed from the Bonnet and a metal plate was welded in its place, it was then smoothed. The Ecosse Bonnet Bulge had to be Smoothed and Bonded on to the Bonnet. The next step was spraying the inside of the car, the wheels were taken off and the arches were also painted as they were the original colour of the car and would show through the 17” Wheels if they were left the original Colour. All of the bits that were removed from the car such as the Kit, Light etc were sprayed seperatly. The exterior of the car was then sprayed and then the kit and everything else that was removed was put back on.

An New Alarm and Immobiliser was fitted to the car for extra security. In total the car took Six Weeks to complete. When I picked it up I could hardly believe the change, it was such a good job, I loved it. Driving it back from the Spray-Shop I realised what a head turner it was, it was so bright and different, I was really happy with the end result, it was exactly what I wanted it to look like, I couldn’t wait to get it too all this years shows to show it off!!

Honestly, I'm starting to go off them.

Id rather have a powerful, good looking car as standard, like the FRP.
