arent the gti-6 and the rallye different models?
Posted By: whitfiej1 Re: Pug 306 S16 Gti-6 Rallye - 17th Jun 2005 10:17am
yeah, the Rallye is a more "Stripped down" version but just as much power. No air con and stuff.

Less were made and thus more sort after.

Its mainly as I have only ever seen 1 S16 here and 1 GTI-6. Just wondered if there were any more knocking around thats all.

went past a blue gti-6 on m56 yesterday but don't know here it was from. they are very rare! the top spec pugs tend to be! they sell billions of the normal versions but hardly any of the top ones.

from what i've seen and heard, it would be a pretty tough call. depends on the road and the driver i guess.

will try and find out for ya.

The GTI-6 has 167BHP where mine is 180+ - i know its more but not an exact figure. My car also has a shorter 0-60 time and more torque. Facts speak for themselves.

right then:

GTI-6

167bhp @ 6500 RPM
139.66 BHP PER TON
0-60 in approx 7.2
0-100 in approx 19.8
1/4 mile average OF 15.85
Weight of 1215 Kg

Rallye

167bhp @ 6500 RPM
145.65 bhp per ton
0-60 in approx 6.9
0-100 in approx 18.7
1/4 mile average 15.59
weight of 1165 kg

Top speed of around 142 for each.

any use to ya??

The GTI 180's are beaten almost everytime until the engines well worked in. There sluggish from new but a killer when the engines covered more than at least 5 - 6k.

striaght line, the 6 would more than likely lose but on a twisty A road, they would put up a fight and it would be a close call.

well for example mines done 17,000 has been lowered(that sorts the twisty road problem) and certain tuning has been done, which i can guarentee brings it at even more than 180BHP and brings the 0-60 time down!

Then a standard 6 should let you through nicely, probably waving as you pass.
