I just got an X reg 206 on finance, bit of a kit and wheels etc, £3200, paid £200 deposit and its £100 per month for 3 year after that, is that about right for decent car finance? some of the people i rang wanted like £160 per month!

There is cheaper out there dependant on credit ratings. As a home owner you sometimes get it a little cheaper, won't be much lower, maybe about £90 - £95 a month?

People should beware of the companies -wanting- to give you finance with APR's like 50%. CitiFinancial do this. You get a loan of 2000 say, they take the setup charge from it (which is 500 quid), and then charge you admin which is 90 quid, and then slap on 50% on top.
So you get 1400 quid, and end up paying 3000 quid back. They must assume you are so desperate, that any money will do.
I wouldn't borrow for anything, I hate owing people.

Car finance is something i'd never do. I got a 5k loan from a lon company 3 years back and in total im paying only 5600 back,so thats only 600 pound more than they gave me.and thats on 5k,ur paying 500 extra back on 3k. I wouldnt,but hey,u may have a good deal in terms of finance,but loans are always better

Or get a credit card, even cheaper.
