What do you think about the way the prices are going ? eek

What should goverment do to help the motorist ? eek

Will the pipeline card thing work out ??
Posted By: PAZ Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 2nd Jun 2004 11:03pm
The most expensive i have seen is 98.0 p a litre now that is so wrong!!!!
Posted By: Mark Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 2nd Jun 2004 11:14pm
Did you see the £1.10 in Blackpool "O MY GOD"

"That's So wrong"....

I think the goverment should reduce the tax
to compensate...
Posted By: PAZ Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 2nd Jun 2004 11:15pm
Somethin has to be done!!!

otherwise we should change to GAS.....

insted of the truckers blockin up the oil re-finerys us cruisers shod do it!!
Posted By: Gary Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 3rd Jun 2004 12:21pm
i think they goverment should reduce tax's anyway but especially during this time because its just too expensive at more than a £1 a litre. Ive heard something about a temporary possible three day week aswel, anyone else heard
this?
Posted By: Mark Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 3rd Jun 2004 1:32pm
I'm not 100% Sure but,
If i hear correctly the UK has the most expensive petrol per ltr in Europe ?

Well its hitting the News so i dont think its going to be too long before some action is taken.

Lets hope London comes to a stop first eh !
Posted By: pugginell Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 3rd Jun 2004 5:10pm
just heard on radio that the big 3 oil companies, shell, esso, bp, r going to pump more oil out per day so the price will actually be frozen for the foreseeable future.
Posted By: Mark Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 6th Sep 2005 1:00am
So its kicking off again.

They say not me that they should curve back down a little at the end of september.
Then back up again for christmas.

But Diesel is going to stedely rise.

Hopefully the goverment will reduce the tax
so it wont go over the £1

But funny enough some one told me (Forgot who)
that most petrol pumps can not register + 99.99p
That's going to be fun.

Is petrol too hight again ?

YES i say.

Whats wrong with the 2 or 3 topic that are already running about the petrol prices!? eek
Posted By: AX_125 Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 6th Sep 2005 8:37am
i saw on the news this morning that the only reason one garage didn't go above the £1 p/l was because it didn't have enough space on the board, and they are ordering new signs to support this.

so, £1 per litre.

60% goes to the government for tax
17.5% goes to the government for Value added tax

So that is nearly 78p for every pound that the government is accountable for, the oil companies only make a few pence profit per litre.
Posted By: Den Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 6th Sep 2005 10:29am
forget bloackading oil refineries lets block downing street

Some of the bigger companies which have their own shops - Select for Shell etc, actually make more profits from the goods sold in the shops, than the fuel sold from the pumps.

Oil has been on a steady rise, the middle east problems havnt helped that rise, oil is also a comodity that will eventually run out which contributes to the price of oil, but the tax on the fuel eek

Its an easy tax, you dont like paying it, use busses, trains etc, but its paying for the convenience of having the car, and the freedom of a car.
Posted By: Anarchy Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 6th Sep 2005 11:40am
wudnt say public transport is cheaper.. maybe on longer journeys but like going from eastham 2 chester it costs around £4 quid on the train and prob the same on the bus !!

it wudnt even cost me that in the car !! and its shit loads more inconvenient!!

but i agree like goin 2 london or somin !!!

i think blockades r the way forward.. im gonna start storing some petty !!!

Im really surprised to the response on this confused

Every other BB this is on has pages of discussion think

People, this could render your car useless without fuel, stopping you going shopping - if there is any food in the shops, stop you going to work, stop you socialising..... etc, etc, yet noone really seems that bothered confused
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 7th Sep 2005 3:47pm
Oh im m bothered, but moaning isn't going to get me anywere. I could go on about how the government take the piss with the tax but its all been said before, and its getting us no-were.

What can we do to bring the prices down, anything at all? If there's a way then i'd be more than happy to help do it, protest? Probly get us no-were but im still up for it if cool
Posted By: Anarchy Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 7th Sep 2005 4:01pm
i reckon we blockade the shell and esso by the rock!!
Posted By: jimbo4x4 Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 8th Sep 2005 6:44am
The only way to bring prices down is to hit home with mr blair. If we stopped him from being able to travel then he'd see what problems everyone else in the country is having. Fuel duty is easy money to him so he's not going to lower it unless someone rubs his nose in the issue.
Posted By: Rob Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 8th Sep 2005 4:17pm
highest i have seen is 93p

£1.00 on shell borough road is b/s
Posted By: scoop Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 8th Sep 2005 5:35pm
Stopping tony blair from travellin is gonna lump you in jail on some bullshit law. ASBOs and section 59s may be issued to protestors i reckon. I feel lucky now payin 89.9 up here
Posted By: hales85 Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 9th Sep 2005 12:09am
were is it 89.9 then, and were is the the cheapest now then, an don the topic of changin it i think the only way to go would be for petition and everuy one to write in to mr blair saying if he dosent do somethink then nextelections we ll vote someone in who will as i figure enough people write then evenyually it will get through

i didnt think to read read the poster location my mistake anyway thats a bit far to travel to fill up so weres the cheapest locally now
Posted By: jimbo4x4 Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 9th Sep 2005 12:26am
If you want "real" fuel, go to the shell @ bromborough 93.9, or the asda has it cheaper but it's rumoured they use addatives which make your car run slower and less economically
Posted By: hales85 Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 9th Sep 2005 12:31am
thanks for that jimbo
Posted By: Anarchy Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 9th Sep 2005 12:41am
from wat i have been told, all the petrol whether its shell, esso, or sainsburys tesco etc, all comes from the shell refinery..

i used to work for shell and all the tankers sed its the same shit except for optimax !!
Posted By: Scooby Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 9th Sep 2005 9:08am
Yeah, Tesco's petrol is exactly the same but can only be shipped in "Tesco" Branded tankers for example, same as Asda and the likes of......
Posted By: scoop Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 9th Sep 2005 2:50pm
Tony blurt aint gettin another term anyway. I cant believe people actually vote for this chump. Now i dont know my politics but the little things i do see now and then would suggest that the grass is deffo greener elsewhere.Think ill vote this election to hoof him out.The war was a big oopsie aswell.

LABOUR VOTERS:U BROUGHT THIS ON YOURSELVES

If i was the budget dude i'd lower the tax on fuel by at least 10p a litre and tax the absolute shit outta cigarettes. I mean like an extra 30% or even more.

Tony Blair, Bring it on you robin *******
Posted By: Scooby Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 13th Sep 2005 8:16am
Fuel blockade apparently starting at 6:00am on Wednesday Morning at Stanlow.

Anyone up for coming along for a bit to support this cause ??

Also there is a Go Slow drive on the M4 arranged for friday to cause disruption to highlight the campaign.

The goverment make me laugh, They are saying that the Tax used to be only 74% when fuel was 52p a litre and now the Tax is less at 68% think

74% of 52p is 38 pence tax per litre

68% of 98p is 66 pence per litre

So the goverment are getting nearly double what they used to but try and decieve us by quoting percentages instead of real money.

They are taking the piss.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 13th Sep 2005 8:35am
I dont see what protesting will do to be honest, i can't see it getting us anywere, im more than up for joining in though as we can'y simply bend over and let blair shaft us. The government will still have made a piss load of money from us "panic" buying petrol, which will be enough to cover us not buying petrol (due to not being able to) during the protesting period.
Posted By: scoop Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 13th Sep 2005 1:40pm
The point is,this f***er doesnt give a rats ass what his people think of him, hes not out there to be our friend, hes out there for himself,to get his share of money and then get out, the tit.

One way to get as much as poss from ur tank of fuel

When on the move try to keep between 1400 and 2000 RPM. dont go into fourth too much below 40 as you car gets bogged down trying to accelerate, using more fuel than if u were to use third gear to get u to 30,and similarly, dont go into fifth until 36MPH minimum
Posted By: scoop Re: Petrol Prices & Discount Cards - 6th Jun 2006 8:22pm
Pipeline card is takin a while aint it. Considering it was sposed to be ready by april/may. Still getttin regular emails about its progress so i am hopeful its coming. Its not hugely confidence building having the guys name as "scammel" tho is it. It could just be a scam to make us all be navman GPS unit things lol. Any1 else get that email???

my beemers got a mpg gauge and when i accelerate in 1st 2nd and 3rd, it shoots right down to less than 12mpg, but if i quickly build speed up in 1st, change about 2500 revs, same again in 2nd, then just got to 5th, a full tank seems to last me much longer than avoiding the higher gears until 36mph
