I paid 80.9 at Asda Bromborough.

Diesel is currently 80.9 at Gordales on the Chester high road in Burton, Unleaded is 82.9 but it's the cheapest Diesel I've seen anywhere

no where in wallasey is under 81.9 which is tesco

The price I normally see for unleaded is 81.9 per litre. thats in alot of places. I normally get my petrol from a shell station. I would have thought that the cheapest would be one of the supermarket petrol station...

mine has to be tesco like gadget. 81.9

I'm buying an old ****ed up diesel 309, set to do some bio-diesel experiments on...I'll keep you informed.

Ive seen it on the A41 southbound recently at 84.9p for unleaded in the Shell out towards Eastham, although as everywhere else is increasing to 86.9p minimum they will go to 85.9p if they have not already. Optimax was 88.9p, should be 89.9p when the premium unleaded cost increases.

i noticed the change when i changed cars, the clio used to push £34 but my galant takes £45-50



obvioulsy i'm not stupid and i know it because of the upgrade in cars but still petrol sucks at the mo. btw ASDA brombrough constantly has the cheapest petrol!

Ive been by Asda a few times this week and they have actually been 1p higher per litre then the Shell near Eastham on the A41.

The last time I filled up there everywhere else was 87.9p, the Asda was 86.9p and the Shell in question was 85.9p.

Hopefully it will be 84.9p today as I have to go that way later on, so I will call in and fill up me tank hehe!

Where is wirrals cheapest fuel?

Tesco at Bidston Moss is 91.9p per litre. But id rather pay the extra 1p per litre at Shell (92.9p), I get pluspoints for it (I dont really use Tesco, Asda is far better for food shopping, so I dont use Clubcard), the petrol is "usually" of a higher quality as its not just "sourced" from the cheapest provider (and Shell are an oil company, they spend billions improving their petrol quality, Tesco dont) and I know a couple of people (mainly with bikes) who have fallen foul of Tesco watering down their petrol...

I work at stanlow and locally;

Tesco Petrol - Comes from Stanlow
Morrisons Petrol - Comes from Stanlow
Esso Petrol - Same
Texaco Petrol - Same

Any 'buggeration' would be done by tesco at the forecourts etc, and I dont know if that would really happen.....

sorry to drift a bit but its not really watered down. they just use the same tanker for deisel then go back and use it for petrol, etc. so it mixes and feels like shite stuff. or so i'm told.......

The cheapest is only going to be a penny or two cheaper. I think unless the cheapest is very local to you, its probably going to cost you more to go and fill up at the cheapest then it will at your local station as it will mean extra miles to get there.

I suppose its a catch 22 really. Is it honestly enough of a saving to warrant a longer journey to fill up.

i am never going to use super market petrol as it is c rap PROVEN lower octane levels. you test it out and you will be amazed. if some one has performance ford from a couple of months ago you will find that super market petrol compared to optimax there was 30bhp increase when using optimax.

bout 3 yrs ago there was a petrol station in neston five ways on chester high road which had a water percentage of 30 this was due to cheap c rap and a leak with the cover

Although I agree that supermarket petrol is of somewhat lower quality then major oil companies and there is evidence in the past of Tesco watering down their petrol, do you have any evidence to back up your claims that the type of petrol being used icreased the BHP by 30BHP.

Even for high performance engines which can take advantage of increased Octane levels found in Optimax, 30BHP sounds a bit too much. Plus Tesco now do 99RON (Optimax is 98RON - V-Power which will replace Optimax one day is 100RON), so presumably this would be better, although it probably wont be as high quailty and as refined as the likes of Optimax.

I used to fill up at tescos, but last week I filled up at an esso garage and noticed quite a large increase in performance. mind you, I did try that redex to clean out my injectors too

According to experts, using Shell Optimax and BP Ultimate, is as good as adding Redex and other fuel addatives. And it should work out about the same price, maybe cheaper, as you only need a couple of full tanks for it to clean effectively.

I use a Wynns Xtreme triple pack once every six months/at every oil change, does not make a great deal of difference but it does seem slightly more responsive.

The cheapest price I have been able to find is the Shell's in Moreton and Upton @ 93.9p per litre.

At least while the price may be extremely high at the moment, it seems to have settled a bit this last week or so at around the 95p per litre mark. The rate at which the price was increasing in the previous three weeks was starting to give me nightmares about it hitting £1.00 a litre!!!

100.9p unleaded i filled up today at the shell by the rock and KFC, Was the same in the garage on the other side of the road

the cheapest fule is called a hose pipe an a big can lol

cheapest diesel is sold in Birkenhead, 85p per litre iirc... or ye can go the funny way, and get some veggie oil from Tesco, 56p a litre

Well apprently on petrolprices.com, there is no garage on the wirral that sells diesel, so i've been filling the focus up with fresh air !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woo-Hoo i've solved the fuel crisis, everyone buy a focus TDCi as they run on fresh air.

yer 480 miles on a tank, VW said they would be 50 miles short haha it limped home successfully though

that is pure class.

i drive my focus on the smell of an oily rag and it just keeps going and going.
