Right Guy's N Gals..... I have the Rangy up for sale but i am looking for something special to tickle my fancy
I am even considering cars like this
web page Something like an Ariel Atom but maybe with a bit more practicality ?
I want to test drive the car and get out with a Massive grin on my face and hand over the cash. So many cars are boring nowadays, nice cars but boring.
So peeps, get your thinking cars on and find Scooby a real car. If anyone is sucsessfull they will obviously be in for a good run in it with me and break some laws
Does a Clio V6 255 tickle your fancy?
Similar to the atom in the fact it is a totally stupid concept, but a tad more practical lol!
I doubt it, but I had to suggest it hehe
how about something abit like this:
1960 Ford Thunderbird 2Dr Hardtop
get in the spirit of something similar to Rhys project
Also something like this is amazing:
Marque Bentley
If you get a rs500 i will sit outside your house till i get ago.
Try n buy somthing thats finished the mk1 escort was great but needed work doing to it.
Ariel Atoms are very quick on the track (been wasted by many on many trackdays) but wouldnt have a road going one.
Porsche 996's, Skyliners, Ferrari's are all great cars but will be needed to be kept loacked up for peace of mind at night.
If i went for anything i would try somthing different.
Mk1/2 Escort with the cossie thing.
Ranger sport great cars.
X5 bmw sport 400bhp
When not get a newish M car.
Or go all out and get a big bhp skyline or buy a 200sx like me.
3door cossie have dropped in price alittle so maybe a good 450bhp one is a good bet at £10.000
I could be Robin
Think about it?
- It Does Flames.
- Nice Alloys
- Sat Nav
- I think it floats too.
AC Shelby Cobra :
Shelby Cobra GT500
New 2007 Shelby Cobra :
^^^^
If you get that my ambition will be crushed!
I was actually gonna suggest the 2006 Roush Mustang, you will never see one of them around here
no way dammittt!!!!! i want a mustang *weeps*
I was just about to suggest exactly the same... 2005 Roush Mustang *wolf whistles*
get it scooby, you know u wanna
The 2007 shelby looks the SHIT. But prob wont handle well at all. Some suggestions from me
Escort Cossie
Monaro (a lad at work has a tweaked HoldenSV Monaro GTS which is amazing)
R34 tweaked to death
M3 CSL
Yeah, problem with US muscle cars is they are fast in a straight line, but they are very Roman Empire like when taking corners .... ie. the Amercian car designers don't realise corners exist!
Id say from Scoops list a Monaro, aint seem one before in this country, certainly not locally.
wow that mustang is nice, scooby get it!
I think you should go for a skyline jay cause I know all the other cars you wnt mod. I know when you get a skyline it will soon be made into something like the scooby. Dnt be sensible like ya have been lately lol. Or mayb a supra turbo

what about a rwd converted escort cossie
there is a mk1 escort quite an alright spec on ebay here's the link
cossie mk1
wat about a ford gt or a ford focus rs or a 911 gt3
exige is a nice car bit a bit to cramped, CLK is not really a drivers car (Traction, ABS, Too many electronic gismo's) Focus RS is FWD, 911's have caught my eye for quite some time now but, but, but, well i dont know lets just say BUT.....
MK1 escort is nice, i was watching that auction on flebay but been there and done that.
I NEED MORE HELP..........
Scooby if you fancy somethin diffrent iam sure bauer and millet in manchester must have a web site they have some gorgeous motors in big on hummers too if you fancy that
ok, being as ur turning down a fantastic car,the C.S.L and stating ur reasons of disliking Traction Control (which can be completely turned off in the CSL)/ABS etc then i suggest.........TVR......cerbera.....speed 12!
Why not go for a noble m12
click me
i know you not a r34 but this caught my eye
Linky For R34 oops just seen it is provisionally sold
that 34 is very nice. Kris,no offence to jay but something tells me jay cant afford an F1. I think theyre worth more now than they were new.and they were circa £660,000 when they were new,i think they demand a mill now. BEST.CAR.EVER

I say u need to put the "scooby" back in "scooby" mate. Get a newer impreza.has to be white, for the rarity

Said the words right outta my mouth!
I was gonna say the new Subaru too, its a good idea
and I dont think white, Scoobies already had a white Scoob...
WR Blue pearl, even if its a common colour it still looks the bizz.
But Im guessin, Scooby wants something to ^Separate the men from the boys^ lol Something powerful, custom, unique, comfortable, head turner, something that sounds as good as it looks lol and petrol of course!
i seen one of them the other day with the FULL WRC livery in FULL COLOUR,not just yellow, and it looked the shit,a big power one would seperate the men from the boys
Jay this is what you should get.
click
I love the old school bully!
Old school is the way to go.
Stop faffing round with buying then selling

I have been looking at a new STI
Or a slightly older STI :
I dont think the newer STI's are available in white ?
Stuy, great comments and you have me intreaged but you have not left a suggestion as to what car to get
all i can say now is jay is "the choice is yours"
But the question is ......
Is the price right ????
oh so true. if you don't mind me askin what is your budget? 20k+ 25k+?
just so that we can get close really to what you want.
GEt the scoob,y'know ye want te. flamer kit the mofo too
if u get a scooby r u gonna get a white 1 again or a blue 1 m8
Not sure, maybe blue with gold wheels but it will stand out, trust me.....
My Budget.... Erm, i dont really have one bud but i want value for money. Would like to stay within 35k but i was even looking at a 2.9 sierra for a few grand.
I have done the flash car thing and i have another 7 cars to smoke around in if i want to drive something different.
Im after something like my MK1 escort cosworth, i was scared to drive the *****g thing, it was awesome
rs500 then as you see alot of scoob's but nt alot of rs500, plus the one in fast ford has sorted sus for when it gets 550bhp
you sure you want another subaru, with the trouble you had with the engines in your last one, and i always seem to hear about subaru engine having problems,
i would get something like a mk2 escort with a cossie lump in it, or even a escort cosworth, they seem to hold there value
The scooby engines were my own doing, I kept on pushing for more and more power peaking at approx 400 BHP but i never had strenthened internals due to costs.
I should have had all the internals strenthened before i pushed for huge power gains. Standard my impreza ran 215 BHP, i nearly doubled this figure so something had to give as the standard engine was never designed to withstand 400 BHP
I have to admit i am very tempted but i could do with shifting the Range Rover first unless a really goods offer come along.
I can get the newer shape Impreza STI UK Type with 22k miles that is only 9 months old for £17,000 cash
Very tempting indeed......
Ferrari 355?
I've got my eye on one myself and you can pick up a minter for 35k.
OR an MR2 turbo with the Ferrari kit. You can pick up a good one with all the ferrari badges and interior for around 13k. Standard 0-60 times are 5.6s and 1/4 mile 14.3s.
Failing that i'm selling my Skyline (380bhp) if you're interested for £8500.
maybe build a kit car "7" jay? i do think u shud get a new scooby tho.the latest shape, and those new 2.5 engines are built stronger i believe, meaning u cud do a few small mods without worrying about melting it/throwing rods
maybe look into EvoMR400FQ thing???
You gettin another Scooby then Jay?
click me Jay how many rs500's do you see now days???
Unless you go to a show you just dont see them
Scoobys are ten a penny at the moment nothing wrong with them but there are plenty about.
If it was me then a rs500 would be the one.
RWD a classic and a verynice looking car good tunning options and plenty of stuff on the market.
tour scooby is in this mouthns jap mag .when u were at santa pod spiting flames
i like the scooby but they have lost the rare thing now every one has got 1 an even 2 of my brothers mate mums have them now .if u looking to look good why not find a mr2 turbo with ferrari kit on on the way back from donny we stoped at a sirvice station an we thought wow look at that ferrari an when we got up close we still cudnt tell un till we looked realy close .an it wud be alot cheaper to run an fix that a ferrari 14k gets you one with a full leather interiour the hole works .so wot have u got in mind
Look a Likes just dont do it for me at all mate, i would rather have a dog of a ferrari than a minta MR2 ferrari look a Like.
RS500 is a very nice car but have you tried fiinding one for sale ?
I Hate Cars, I am so so frustrated trying to find somethink to tickle my fancy....
as i said before jay there is a rs500 in thismonths fast ford. tryin to get online pics for you.
Vauxhall Carlton Lotus

I just came up with a whole list but the computer restarted
They were a few off the list, if I can remember what I wrote i'll edit the post

With a budget like you have I guess any car for that money would be delt with by the appropriate agents.
I personally think a 2WD Saffy Cosworth (You have mentioned it before..) Fairly chaep to buy, modable on the drive, more fun than any 4wd Impreza....
Anything else could be too expensive to chance playing with, at least with the Cossie if something goes wrong its not the end of the world, and 1/2 the fun is having the ups and downs with tinkering and getting your hands dirty
Footballs buy cars that are "Somit special", everyone who enjoys cars buys a car and then makes it somit special
Stuy, your a man after my own heart.....
I would rather have a £3k cozzy and have to play about with it occasionaly then a £50k porsche, luxury cars are boring and very expensive, trush me i have found out the hard way
if u wanna really get into something why not build a 7 style kit car? im sure with ur know how and budget u cud have a right toy
Just found this baby.......
that'd be sweeet. is it 330BHP @ .5 bar boost? cos thats incredible.somethin tells me its more like 330 when the boost is upped, but its currently set to half a bar. Not sure on the wheels either (look more at home on a jaguar) but it'd make a gr8 drift machine and with a change of wheels and some gfx a really nice car.I wouldnt say no
must say does look extremely nice, change in wheels and i like it
lets see what mr mac has to say
Certainly looks the part matey
Not sure its been built for the UK roads though, the bodykit looks like it would last 5 minutes, along with the exhaust.
For a track / drift car, it seems ideal, but for driving on the roads... Its gonna be bumpy as hell, scrub rear tyres with camber and be very light at the back end.
Also not sure what turbo it will run to get 330bhp at 0.5bar (a small turbo would need lots more engine work to get that power at such low boost
), it may be like the blue one I had, boost at 5000rpm, but when it comes in.....
For a dedicated drift car it looks a great carto get in to the D1 stuff with
But for driving on the roads etc, I just think it would be too much....
Lovely looker though
Needs Chunky phat white alloys with blue and red writing on them lol
Right, i have just telephoned the guy and he will take £7k for it.
Its running 260 BHP at 0.5 bar or 7 psi boost, he has ran it occasionaly and on a rolling road with a bleed valve at 1 bar or 14.7 psi and this is where the 330bhp comes about.
Not advised really as the fueling does not match the air flow and we get melted pistons
7k could get u a bug eye scooby couldnt it,thats what i'd buy with that money
no idea what 200s go for really
but a 7k scooby (about 8.5k+) is that price for a reason. lost value so much that it makes you think.
wouldnt put me off buyin the newer one though. although 350Z's im in love with at the moment. (and they are rear wheel drive)

It does 176mph, with 377bhp and a 0-60 of 4.8secs. Awsome car but I dont think your old enough for one of these yet jay.
I like the RS500 idea obviously OR The AC Cobra - I know how much you love these and they are an amazing machine that combines extreme speed with excellent handling, and v stylish.

£7k is a lot for the car considering its state of tune, what your really paying for it the kit.
I was looking at the details and the suspension is fully adjustable, height and softness so it could be made to drive a bit more friendly.
I havbe told him that he is asking too much for the car. He is going to let me know if he becomes desperate for cash and reduce the amount. I think £5k is a fair price ?
Will keep my eye on this one i think......

Would get him down on the price though like you have said.
Originally posted by Scooby:

The only problem with that, is that if you adjust the suspension, its no longer a drift car - its the set up that makes it what it is. Take away the drift set up, and its just a modified 200SX
As a drift car, it certainly looks the part - but it also looks very tidy
Is there any evidence it has been used as a drift car, or has someone just slapped a load of rear camber on it to sell it as a drift car - has the handling been proven on it
350Z !!!! no need to worry about any of this "wait till 5k for the turbo" malarky either
350Z,handles like a yank tank....apparently
On 5th gear, the 350Z was 1 sec faster round Ty Croes than the nimble, new, Audi TT
Theres a bit of chat about this car on the SXOC.
Basically, if it was a Blitz show car, why is it only the FMIC that is made by Blitz
Couple of the guys know of him, and apparently the car has been put together quite cheaply, with GRP bumpers (Copies of genuine Kouki items) and isnt in line with an Auto Salon show car
General discussion on the SXOC is that it looks nice, but dont go there...
as you said you loved the mk1 escort here's a mk1 fiesta rwd
linky
Very nice and a silly car but far too much for a car so old....
click me just found this.
Sex Wee, Sex Wee, Sex Wee.........I have just been watching
Gone in 60 Seconds on itv2 and that Mustang Shelby Cobra 500 GT is my dream CAR......
You can buy the new version of the GT500 but its not quite the same, but still nice....
Ebay link Does ANYONE know where i can get am origonal Ford Mustang Shelby Cobra GT500 ?
I am willing to pay Serious cash for a nice origonal example
Sorry Jay, but imho that is one hellishly ugly car.
Unique in the UK certainly, but for a reason, its ugly.
i watched a programme about that shelby. each one is custom made, they take an old mustang and do each one by hand. i think the top of the range engine is called the super snake, think its about 5 or 600 bhp.

thought it was 600 to 700 bhp, was on the discovery channel last year, and iirc the price of a super snake was 100k plus

Where can i get an original 1968 Mustang Shelby GT500 ????
I really want one, not a new one but a real old one or as near as i can get to the real thing....
why not look at other american cars their not something which you will loose to much cash on here as their collectable. I like these was looking at one of these instead of the jag but the 3.6l model
I have only found one "REAL" GT500, it's in the states so you'd have to get it imported - and it is BIG money. You're talking over £30K:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1967...hZ003QQcategoryZ6465QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I have found a True Shelby Mustang GT500 in America.....
Its a DOG and costs $91,000 dollars or roughly £50,000
Ebay Link.....
I would go for the clone to be honest they still have plenty of poke. If you can afford it though the proper one would be an investment and it doesnt look bad after it was cleaned up. But I would be carefull about firing it up after been standing that long. Would be worth removing the plugs and spraying a bit of oil down the bores b4 hand. I do think you go for something like this though.
nah dont do 'clones' youd always no it wasnt the real thing
Okay, lets put this into perspective here....
A Cloned Shelby Mustang GT500 costs approx £30,000
An Original Shelby Mustang GT500 costs anywhere from £50,000 to £75,000
I know everyone is of the opinion i am minted but come on Guy's n Gal's. £50,000 for a dog of a car that needs restoring
Even that is stretching my limits. I would love a real shelby but due to the costs involved i would settle for a clone and be just as happy.
If i won the lottery then i would buy an original
but for now i am looking for a nice clone
Shelby mustang is one of my all time dream cars love them.
Dont get one cos i will not like you
Unless i get a go that is.
I am watching this one :
Ebay link.... Click me) $2,000 dollars to ship to the UK but i dont know about other costs such as taxes etc etc....
Opinions peeps....
i love theses car if i could afford one
mint car!!! love the new dials inside so you know exactley what is going on under the bonnet.
Prefer the white one tbh, btw I knew it was a clone, but it was the closest thing to the real car I could find hence the inverted comma's. It has an actual GT500 engine under the bonnet, that's good enough for me lol.
Not keen on the green one, looks like a supercharged pea.
Found this on ebay when looking for bits for the herald. I think you will like it just imagine how much of a laugh you would have in this.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PRO-STREET-19...301QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
That's one hell of a sleeper
But rwd ain't as much fun in a short wheelbase car..
that polo, is a hell of a rude boy, id well have it.
that polo is wider than a rude boy andy its just insane
Tis sweet that Scoop.
Nice motor scoop, Not really what i am looking for though.
jay you say you want a car which is unique, fast, no other like it?
well i think i have found one here, bit pricey mind but it is a classic....
Ebay linky
Nice dimmer on it too (spelt wrong i think)
36k?! Some people have too much money.
Nice dimmer on it too (spelt wrong i think)
thats no dimma mate
What is a dimma anyway?
My mate said he saw a Cosworth parked up with a lad of about 20 in it. It had neons, 18inch aftermarket alloys and stick on shite on it!!!
Dimma make after market body kits for various cars inc pugs, Renault, citreon
I wouldnt give that the steam of my shi* mate.
Its horrible
thats standard aint it? some kind of homolgamation car. I dont like it,but i bet it flies!!
What ARE u looking for jay??
still nicer than a scooby jay
What ARE u looking for jay??
Thats the question Mr Scoop My Plans are changing, i would have loved a Shelby Cobra but the cost is way past what i want to spend.
I am selling the Rangy and the Bongo and hoping to replace them with a middle man
What i mean is a vehicle that will do both jobs in one (Appart from the camper van thing but i have just bought a caravan for that anyways)
I need the following in a new car (In Order of priority)
- Good Fuel economy (40 MPG Plus)
- All Wheel Drive
- Towing weight above 2000 kgs
- Spacious
- Performance
Okay, to achieve 40 MPG plus will require a diesel engined car but modern diesels are fast and so so torquey i dont mind that and you can chip them easilly enough. All wheel drive for the good old Jetski, I tow a car trailer and that weighs approx 400 kgs so a 2000 kgs towing limit would allow me to tow a car weighing 1600 kgs which is borderliine as i occasionally tow heavier, also need to tow my caravan. Spacious as i carry allot of stuff about and used to a spacious vehicle now and obviously performance, i dont think i need to explain that one to you guy's n gals.....
Any suggestions but it must meet the above criteria !
Your perfect solution is sitting on Stuy's drive:
well, apart from all wheel drive
Your perfect solution is sitting on Stuy's drive:
well, apart from all wheel drive
Jay how true is that
what about an audi? don't know which 1 mind as there are loads rs4 maybe
Okay, Stewy's is very nice but all wheel drive is second on my list of priorities therefore a must so no good there. Also they only have a towing weight of approx 1600 kgs which is not enough.
RS4's are very nice and tempting but the fuel economy is poop
Need some carefull consideration here peeps. Any more suggestions ?
If the RS4's a no go what about an A6 Quattro? They come in Diesel, are quick, more spacious than the RS4, AWD, good mpg, not sure about the towing weight though but it will be higher than the RS4 if that was tempting you...
How about:
Vauxhall Signum Elite Nav 3.0CDTi V6 24v
Interior Options included as standard
CD 70 Navi including Colour Monitor
Stereo radio/CD/MP3 CD player
CD ROM-driven satellite navigation system
Graphic information system
Steering wheel mounted audio controls
TMC (Traffic Message Channel)
Electronic Stability Programme-plus (ESP-plus) incorporating traction control
www.vauxhall.co.uk
Only problem with the Signum, and I mean no offence when I say this, but it is the harsh reality.....
.....its a Vauxhall. This means that in a couple of years it'll be worth 2 buttons, and a used tea bag
Lol, yeah, Corsa's retain their value better then big Vauxhalls...
from what u need in a car,i can only suggest a range rover diesel.
Do jaguar make a 4x4 diesel X type??
Couldnt u give the economy factor the heave ho?
Do jaguar make a 4x4 diesel X type??
I think they do, wasnt the 4x4 X-Type that Jezza showed off in the snow a diesel??
from what u need in a car,i can only suggest a range rover diesel.

Thought Jay was after rwd???
Get somthing soon Jay this topics taking the site over
.
What about somthing like a 350z????
Or 535 td beemer plenty of torque, space, gadgets, nice looking (compared to a nissan micra)
A6 Quattro : Now we are talking, or i think the A4 quattro have good towing weights.... They come in a 1.9 TDi producing 130 bhp and 2.5 V6 TDi producing some 186 bhp with nearly 400 lbs of torque. Still get 40 MPG and you can chip them higer. Good recomendation mate
Vauxhall Signum Elite Nav 3.0CDTi V6 24v Its a vauxhall and its NOT all wheel drive
from what u need in a car,i can only suggest a range rover diesel.
Do jaguar make a 4x4 diesel X type??
Couldnt u give the economy factor the heave ho?
You mean like the one i have Mr Scoop
Fuel economy it terrible
RWD : Gets stuck on the beach
BMW 535D Rear wheel drive
Just to clarify this is what i am looking for.....

- Good Fuel economy (40 MPG Plus)
- All Wheel Drive

- Spacious

All wheel drive for the good old Jetski, I tow a car trailer and that weighs approx 400 kgs so a 2000 kgs towing limit would allow me to tow a car weighing 1600 kgs which is borderliine as i occasionally tow heavier, also need to tow my caravan. Spacious as i carry allot of stuff about and used to a spacious vehicle now and obviously performance, i dont think i need to explain that one to you guy's n gals.....
Any suggestions but it must meet the above criteria !
The Quattro A6 is the best suggestion as yet peeps, Keep them coming...
early on in the topic ou were thinking of a mustang, now a a6 quatro in another 10 pages people will be suggesting you go to the mobility shop in wallasey to get a electric scoot, atleast their rear wheel and gud economy, free tax, no insurance lol
i was thinkin the same thing
youve gone from wanting a pure american care or mad nutty ones to an A, i mean wtf?
I think you chaps missed an important post on the last page:
What ARE u looking for jay??
Thats the question Mr Scoop My Plans are changing, i would have loved a Shelby Cobra but the cost is way past what i want to spend.
I am selling the Rangy and the Bongo and hoping to replace them with a middle man
What i mean is a vehicle that will do both jobs in one (Appart from the camper van thing but i have just bought a caravan for that anyways)
I need the following in a new car (In Order of priority)
- Good Fuel economy (40 MPG Plus)
- All Wheel Drive
- Towing weight above 2000 kgs
- Spacious
