As Tony said, shame about the gap
Posted By: golfvr Re: golfvr: Passat Estate - 1st Sep 2009 5:20am
I can send the intercooler down a few inches. But then the corners of the intercooler will get no air as they will be hidden.

Surely thats better than some of the top getting no air?
Posted By: StuyMac Re: golfvr: Passat Estate - 1st Sep 2009 9:25am
You can only see about 1/2 of my intercooler, the rest is out of the direct air flow....

The IC will act as a heat sink, and even though the corners are not directly exposed, the cold will transfer through the metal and make the whole thing cool as the air passes through it.

Just look how much more exposed it is than the std wing mounted thing...

For your number plate troubles....could you not have one made up, small like a Japanese import style, and have it mounted off to the side, like on an Alfa 156?

no Only Jap Imports are allowed smaller plates. You could use a square plate and mount it off to one side, but the font must be the same size as std.
Posted By: MGCraig Re: golfvr: Passat Estate - 1st Sep 2009 2:15pm
Dang.

Would still look alright I reckon, bit different from the norm, and not ruin the look of the front. Also not affecting any airflow if mounted in te right position.
Posted By: golfvr Re: golfvr: Passat Estate - 1st Sep 2009 3:58pm

£60-

Broke 3 of the kit supplied clips, so bought 3 mikado(sp?) clips and samco hoses.

absolute ball-ache of a job, Ive got 1 clip to change, and cant be arsed. lost my mojo when it comes to pipes and intercoolers !!!! smile
