Hello. I thought I’d show everyone my new 1989 190e 2.0. I bought her for the grand total of £510 with 12 months tax and 2 months MOT (but I am assured there is nothing to worry about when it’s up), which I thought was an absolute steal!
By the looks of things she has been garaged most of her life, there is not a scratch on bodywork and no rust what-so-ever. The only small problems I have found so far is a slightly worn driver’s seat bolster (which is expected) and the rear driver’s side window gets jammed after about 1cm of movement. You can hear the motor buzzing, but nothing happens?
There is 171,000 on the clock, but it has been serviced regularly and drives lovely. I have service history up to 150,000.
I’m just getting my head around the fact the lights are in an unconventional position and the indicator stalk is on the opposite side. And it took me ages to find the windscreen wiper controls.

Why a saloon? I have a kid on the way and space will be everything.

All it needs is -40mm and some new rims. Also the cosworth spoiler.

The ebay photos don’t do her much justice, I’ll get some better photos up once I’ve clayed her.

lol

The exhaust was only hanging off because I was using the karibina that was holding it to the car for climbing. I fitted back on before I drove off.

8.5x17 merc rims £120

8x16" merc rims with tyres £120
Posted By: GaryB Re: Gary's Mercedes 190e 2.0 - 12th Jun 2008 6:11pm
It's man-ual, I don't like auto, takes the fun away.

Plans are -40mm and some 17" AMG monoblocks.

Nothing mental, it doesn't need it. Maybe get a leather interior if I can hunt one down.

As for welding up the diff, maybe lol.

Cheers Golfvr smile

Get it looking like that pic...would be schweeeeeet...

After a long day of scrubbing like a scrubber. I've finished cleaning the car, well the exterior and interior; the engine bay will have to wait till the weekend of something!

I used Autoglym Shampoo and Polish, and used Maguires clay. I never went too mad on the claying front as time was against me, but it was enough!

Wash, clay, wash, dry and polish - I never managed to wax as I ran out of time.

Here are the results...(unfortunately pics taken on my phone)
