hello, picked my new car up on saturday afternoon. its a '96 P reg 306 turbo diesel.

i sold me ZS for £2900 (not bad considering i paid £2400 at christmas) then bought this 4 £1800.

its got full suede/alacantra seats front and back, gti6 frontbrakes and cyclone alloys sprayed in antarcite. a BMC air filter and magnex straight thru exhaust system. Autometer boost gauge. ICE wise it has a blaukpunt cd/mp3/DAB player, with Blaukpunt front speakers. Has a Clifford full closure alarm with boot popper.

as u can c its riding a tad bit high, but just in need of a garage or someone who actually knows how 2 adjust a torsion bar about 40-50mm.

Looks sweet man, GTI-6 brakes on a DTurbo I love it lol, must stop faster then it accelerates grin

I love the colour of the cyclones, makes them stand out, their the first thing I noticed!

You got any plans for other mods?

well defo need 2 get it lowered, either 40mm or 50mm jus need 2 c pix of what looks best first, and a cheap place 2 do it as demon tweeks quoted me £240 just for the torsion bar if i provide the springs.
also as advised by u an stuy mac, i'll need 2 get the psi lowerd a tad.

in the near future i may b tempted 2 either upgrade 2 a full gti-6 conversion, or if i'm feelin flush a 3.0l V6 conversion (been in 1 and it FLYS)

but other than that i aint reli got any other plans.

Jeeze, if I were you id just upgrade to a proper GTI-6 rather then converting. A lot less hassle, and we dont wanna see more D-Turbos taken to pieces and upgraded away from derv haha!

Id keep it simple fella, dont wanna stray too far away from the 306 ideal, its rather nice as it is.

You considered upping the engine at all, if you can get ahold of a 406 IC, its a fairly easy upgrade in all honesty considering, and can push you in the 130-140 level without losing too much economy tbh.

As for a 3.0 conversion, jib that, id rather have an uprated GTI-6 or possible Rallye, they demand more money come resale time, and get more respect at 306 meets as they are held in high regard. Iirc, some guy on the Pug306.net forums is running 230 out of a GTI-6 XU engine. Cant remember whats he done to it, I dont go on there much nowadays.

i'm speakin 2 the lad i bought th car from on MSN now. he rekons i should get a diff turbo jus 2 give it a bit more of an umph an maybe add a dump valve for the added effect!

Dump valves are nice astetically, but dont add anything to the power.

For the £200 - £300 you will pay for the dump valve, ye could just get a new 406 IC and have done with it lol.

The car already has an aftermarket IC - std they are top mount, the pic shows it has an FMIC now smile

Personally, if you wanted a Petrol one, I would have bought one to start with, you need to change a lot to get a petrol motor in there - fuel tank, fuel lines and maybe the front subframe, it also kinda makes the diesel economy pointless....

Turbos on a TD are a very fine point due to the way they have a small rev band, a bigger turbo will give more power, but will also reduced the power band.

Looks a very nice car though matey smile
