thats only for the lights !!!.

i am working on tidying it all up. i have a controll box that i have made which will use a 25pin printer lead to connect to the controllers.

I will post pics when complete.

Lol, at the glove box, I was thinking it was a new after market ECU.

Not bad, considering its a vauxhall wink

....but 25 bhp from some silicon pipes and an exhaust omg

Pipes don't do much to the performance. i just replaced them as the standard ones can collapse under high boost.

the exhaust setup that i have puts around 10% on the standard 240bhp. i only know this figure from others who have the same exhaust and have been dyno tested.

It is possible to get the power down and its very quick but it is also very easy to loose grip when pulling off.

there is a fella in germany who is running 380bhp in a vxr. and it does not look like he has touched the exhaust either. all engine mods !

You find that with quite a few turbo cars, the hole in the exhaust housing on the std turbo is about the size of a 20p (if not smaller) which is where most of your restrication is - so as long as you exhaust is a bigger diamter than that, it causes little restriction - a lot less than that of a small bore exhaust on a N/A car (Not that a bigger, free flowing exhaust doesnt help.)

Despite the lack of an exhaust, the car will still need a bigger turbo, remap (Maybe bigger injectors), Intercooler, Inlet cam (Maybe inlet and exhaust) and maybe pistons / rods to meet boost pressures and temperatures.

High power is certainly interesting with FWD wink

How far are you planning on going with it?

Posted By: FlightlessNinja Re: MadJon : VXR Astra - 12th Jun 2007 8:08am
A remap will put the car to 275 the turbo itself is good for about 300bhp and the internals are all good as well. if you want to go further you do need more internals.

there is a new intercooler for them its a front mounted lower one which is placed to make the most use of the aero dynamics of the car (developed with 888).

the list goes on there is just so much potential with this engine.

Courtenay sport are working on modification stages to push the car to 400-500bhp !!!!
