I actually had a nose at this car yesterday when me n me mate went to that car sales place to look at a Vectra.

Its sweet as fook, mint condition, good buy matey!

I bet its a different world from ya Corsa lol!

smile
Posted By: Matty GTI Re: Cor7a- Peugeot 206 GTI - 7th Dec 2006 1:30am
its immaculate mate, very well looked after, very very fast compared with the corsa, going from a 1.2 to a 2.0 is a massive difference and you can really notice the power, the gti got some pulling power i tell ya

made up with it, gna miss me corsa though
Posted By: MattLFC Re: Cor7a- Peugeot 206 GTI - 7th Dec 2006 1:35am
Yer, the Corsa has 73bhp (at standard of course) so ya have virtually doubled ya power overnight haha!

Nice one! thumbsup

Looks Great mate,
Gald you happy as i would imagine it wanst the easiest
decision to find a car to replace the Corsa

Looks Really Nice smile
Good choice.

looks like an immaculate example, whats the plans? and whats the performance figures out of the box?
Posted By: Matty GTI Re: Cor7a- Peugeot 206 GTI - 7th Dec 2006 11:46am
scoop- plans are colour coding, lowered 30mm, and some gti 180 alloys sprayed in anthrite or black, not really doing anything else to it, been there with the corsa

nice little sleeper, hehe, i think the 0-60 is 7.5 seconds, but dont quote me on that
Posted By: Matty GTI Re: Cor7a- Peugeot 206 GTI - 7th Dec 2006 12:08pm
these are the wheels im am going to buy

Posted By: Rossyboy Re: Cor7a- Peugeot 206 GTI - 7th Dec 2006 2:09pm

...and he's half French whistle hehe.

Had a blast of this before, very quick and its a smooth ride, can also be very economical on the old juice if you drive it nicely..quite hard not to do that though..!

Will miss the Corsa matey, but this will so replace that! Made up for you mate, nice early xmas prezzie lol!

The insurance on that you could of had a Vauxhall Astra 2.2 SRi or a 2.0 Turbo SRi.

Well its your car now, how you HATE it and want a Vauxhall again.

Enjoy. sorry.

Leave the poor lad alone u big meany raftl , there are too many vauxhalls around its time for a change.
Posted By: Matty GTI Re: Cor7a- Peugeot 206 GTI - 8th Dec 2006 7:20pm
been to automotion today to start the mods, its goin in on monday for its colour coding, and im going to de-badge it tomorrow

then hopefully get my lowering springs before xmas and slam it down

ive also looked at a gti 180 exhaust, its not a performace box and it comes standard on the 180, so it will still be very quiet
Posted By: MattLFC Re: Cor7a- Peugeot 206 GTI - 8th Dec 2006 8:44pm
Lol, I think you did right getting the 206. How anyone could want a common as muck Asta SRi as opposed to a considerably rare 206 GTI, I dunno.

I know which one id rather have hehe!

smile

looks good matey don't like the colour that much but its still a nice car. u gona put a body kit on it like u did with the corsa?
Posted By: Matty GTI Re: Cor7a- Peugeot 206 GTI - 9th Dec 2006 3:51pm
nope mate, im staying away from the bodykits this time, just gona get me colour coding done, it looks pretty nice as it is anyway
Posted By: scoop Re: Cor7a- Peugeot 206 GTI - 9th Dec 2006 5:04pm
speaking of fitting 206 180 bits, whats the difference between the 137 and 180 engines? how much would it cost to get ur engine to 180 brake? is it just a different head and ECU map? or are the pistons mega high compression jobbies?
Posted By: CustomIce Re: Cor7a- Peugeot 206 GTI - 9th Dec 2006 7:28pm
I should have though uprated valves might feature too?
Posted By: Matty GTI Re: Cor7a- Peugeot 206 GTI - 10th Dec 2006 4:24pm
i dnt really no scoop, im goin to research it, i wouldnt mind getting a bit more power out of mine, lol

by "different head" i meant, bigger port, bigger valves, better springs, hotter cams (maybe even some kind of VVT) but i dont know nowt about pugs and citroens so for all i know it could be an entirely different engine with the block being externally and internally different, but who knows eh?????

i don't think the vvt is on a pug, maybe just a different manifold setup, different map, revised airbox, raised rev limit, etc think
Posted By: MattLFC Re: Cor7a- Peugeot 206 GTI - 11th Dec 2006 7:27am
Specification's of both engines are here:

206GTi 180 - its actually 174bhp, the french take the 177ps rating and round it up to 180.

206GTi 134

It doesnt seem to list much difference though, different fuel system and compression ratio etc... Either way though its certainly the same engine.

Hope that is of some help.

right cant really say alot has happened yet, im removing the spare wheel 2morra which is located under the car which has gone all rusty

the mods sart in the spring, so it will be the lowering springs first

ps, does anyone no if ford and peugeot are the same wheel fitment, its just i like a certain style of ford wheels which i would like sprayed in black
Posted By: spinking Re: Matty GTI : Peugeot 206 GTI - 7th Feb 2007 5:50pm

I might be wrong though i had 205 wheels on my m2 xr2 for a while.

here they are, help plz, any ideas if these will fit

[Linked Image]
Posted By: MrPhil Re: Matty GTI : Peugeot 206 GTI - 8th Feb 2007 9:52am
iirc they will need spacers to fit as the offsets differ.

why not get the nimrod alloys?
Posted By: StuyMac Re: Matty GTI : Peugeot 206 GTI - 8th Feb 2007 10:13am
Peugeot - 4x108, Offset 20 to 25, Bore 65.1

Mondeo - 4x108, Offset 35 to 42, Bore 63.4

So as mentioned, will prolly need 10-15mm spacers and maybe the center hole boring out a few mm...

10-15mm of spacers will need longer hub studs and will more than likely kill ur wheel bearings pretty sharpsh, the centre bore may need boring out aswell. I like those wheels aswell matty and it was a toss up between them and the cossie-esque wheels ive bought

ive gota change the exhaust soon, i hate it so much, only thing spoiling the car
Posted By: Johnny Alan Re: Cor7a- Peugeot 206 GTI - 21st May 2008 8:57pm
looks gud, but if you decide to get it painted it may need a special etching primer as paint tends not to hold to well to alluminium Or like some one else said powder coated maybe gloss black. Birkenhead powder coatings are reasonable and do a good job.

Coming on nicely matey.

My only other comment would be to lose the show cage, IMO they look uber [Linked Image]

Not only that, but due to the way they fit and the way they are made, I remember someone from another site crashing with one in their car. Had the "show cage" not have been fitted, he would have walked away, but it bent and buckled in such a way it fractured his skull in the accident - just what you want from a "cage" eh [Linked Image]
