Its a Cable throttle, the later ones went to fly by wire, these are no good for big power due to the delay in the throttle motor.

Whats the engine code, AGU,AEB,AUM... Its stamped by the bottom left of the rocker cover (you may have to take the plastic cover off)on a metal tab sticking out.

As for exhausts Miltex do a twin round tail pipe, think its £329 from the cat or £389 inc sports cat.
Posted By: DavidB Re: PAZ: VW Mk4 Golf GTI Turbo - 13th May 2005 8:04pm
I think you should definately lower it, as low as possible and get really wide wheels on a negative camber. wink
Posted By: spinking Re: PAZ: VW Mk4 Golf GTI Turbo - 14th May 2005 1:38pm
Paz verynice car that mate golfs have such a good history and you seem to have a good moddin head on ya so should be quick and lookin nice will have to work hard to keep your cruisewirral Title though. I would put on zorst on 1st cos its more bhp and from the golfs i have been in they ride well.

The beast is back from its little illness...

The ECU had gone into spaz mode, had it re set, and we are back...

Does anyone think this is a blag??

Click Me
Posted By: spinking Re: PAZ: VW Mk4 Golf GTI Turbo - 16th May 2005 7:12pm
The seller is a power seller and has a feedback of 99.4% so they must be doing somthing right for only £23 it wouldnt be a great loss. Personaly i would try it.
Posted By: Scooby Re: PAZ: VW Mk4 Golf GTI Turbo - 16th May 2005 9:28pm
Its not a Blagg, however it is a Bleed valve in Discuise........

Its a very good quality one.

Increasing your boost without altering your fuelling can only lead to one end result.

But does it actually increase your boost??

Yes you FOOL....... smack
Posted By: StuyMac Re: PAZ: VW Mk4 Golf GTI Turbo - 17th May 2005 10:37am
Not sure if that will work on the new VW motors.

Is the actuator phicically controlled by the inlet pressure?

The new VAG motors run an extra valve which the ECU uses to monitor boost pressure - as soon as it detects summut wrong (ie extra boost) the ECU takes over and limits the boost.

If your car has this, a bleed valve wont be an option.

Try somewhere like Revo - they specialise in the VAG turbo motors and ECU tuning wink

Im sure ive posted about this before for gadgets car - it'll be on the BB somewhere smile

Have been looking at getting a boost guage, but now i have found these and i`m a little undecided...

This will will fit on the centre of the steering column...

[Linked Image]

Where as this one, is taking up a din size storage compartment above my climate control and stereo ( Was gonna usee this for a fold out screen) but this is nice, wouldn`t know what gauges to put in though really...

[Linked Image]

What you think???
Posted By: Scooby Re: PAZ: VW Mk4 Golf GTI Turbo - 17th May 2005 8:30pm
Boost Gauge deffo, but i would put i pop-up screen in there also instead of other gauges.

If you decide to put other gauges in there i would defo use a oil pressure, air/fuel ratio and possibly oil temperature as these are probably the most important to moniter your engines performance and condition.
Posted By: PAZ Re: PAZ: VW Mk4 Golf GTI Turbo - 15th Jun 2005 11:41am
Well this is the kind of thing i`m looking towards...

[Linked Image]

Nice colour coded rear valence from the 4motion, just bought one of these...

Just need the twin exhaust to finish off, and spioler....

Looks sweet man...

What you all think of it??
Posted By: dikky5 Re: PAZ: VW Mk4 Golf GTI Turbo - 15th Jun 2005 1:31pm
luks sweet m8. i like it. i think usc cud b even more fun 4 me, as r cars power figures r fairly simular cud b fun seein urs against my bm. shud b pretty close. i aint got a clue what power mines runnin. supposodly 205bhp but i cant trust that figure now. mines 8 secs standard so shudnt b 2 much innit. cant wait. r u goin defo 2 usc then.

Posted By: aceritz Re: PAZ: VW Mk4 Golf GTI Turbo - 15th Jun 2005 9:37pm
i love these cars, really want one myself, just cant really afford it at the min, still too pricey for me
Posted By: PAZ Re: PAZ: VW Mk4 Golf GTI Turbo - 13th Aug 2005 7:53pm
Right guys and girls, as some of you may know i was selling the car, but i have not been able to find a decent replacement for the money...

I still have a power problem, need to remove atmoshperic dump valve and return it to a diverter valve, and replace the MAF sensor.

Have got a new Forge diverter valve on order need new boost hose and few other hose, hopefully gonna get samco ones, as for the MAF sensor will be getting one soon.

I have decide not to go down the road of body kits etc, just had too much hassle with the saxo.

Now i`m torn between alloys???

or £350 on a remap , which will produce 200 BHP approx???

What you think??
Posted By: AL Re: PAZ: VW Mk4 Golf GTI Turbo - 13th Aug 2005 8:05pm
Remap it matey thought you already had 19"'s for it?
Posted By: PAZ Re: PAZ: VW Mk4 Golf GTI Turbo - 13th Aug 2005 8:20pm
i did have a set of 19s but i sold them, made a quick £100 on them
