Jimbo's :Vauxhall Astra - 24th Oct 2004 7:45pm
About time I started mods threads for the Jeep and the Astra!
I got the Astra back in November when I realised the Jeep wasn't going to be roadworthy 100% of the time, and it was due to go to Yorkshire for a few months for the conversion work.
It is a 1994 M reg Mk3 Astra 1.7D hatch. Here it is as standard:
First was the sound system, I got hold of a Kenwood 4x50 MP3 player, some kenwood 220watt front door speakers, and kenwood 160watts for the rear. All direct replacements.
Some better alloys fell straight into my lap after joining CW, They're broomys old TSW Pace 15" rims.
After that I decided that I was getting too used to my head unit, so sold it and got another 4x50w Kenwood MP3 player, only with a flip down face.
After that was an upgrade to the facelift mk3 rear lights which are slightly tinted and blend in well with the colour of the car, also some clear front indicators and smoked side repeators.
I have also had performance brakes fitted. These are Brembo max discs and Ferodo DS pads on the front. They've made a massive difference in the stopping distance.
