One of the latest mods I have done to may car is a-VTec controller. The Controller is as they put it, A pig-back computer for the E.C.U. This allows you to change the vtec emgagement point, Which is usually 5100rpm. You change this from 3100rpm to 7000rpm, in stages of 100rpms. The vtec engagement point is where the vtec engine get most of its power.
The controller also allows you the change the air/ fuel mixture, so the car can have a rich mixture or a lean mixture depending on how you want your can to run i.e better acceleration or better fuel encomomy.
The unit also has a monitoring part to it, This allows you to monitor 1, 2, 3 or 4 channels in the car. These can be manifold intake pressure, throttle postion, engine rpm, air correction factor, Vtec point from the ECU, Vtec point from the controller, cam angle ( on DOHC engines) and battery voltage. These can be displayed in a number of ways. One is like the second picture, this is displaying 4 channels, its displaying it in a numerical format. Other ways are a graph, inwhich each channel has a different line. Another way is in a dial format and last a random format.
The monitoring display can changed while driving, but the setting part has to be done with the engine off, just running off the battery. Once set the battery should be switched off and then the car restarted. This will then start the car with the new setting.
