Does anyone know what dealerships view is on modified cars as part exchange? I assume it varied dealer to dealer but if its actually worth more (my car) without the alloys, tints etc.. then I'll take them off but that would seem strange.

Has anyone p/exd their car and been offered a crap price or a really good one? What did they say?

the time i went test driving cars for a giggle,to act serious we got talkin about my green car as p/x,he offered book price only, its as simple as that,he said,u'd be best taking it back to standard and selling the parts off as ill give u the same price with standard parts,

However,in the case of ur car,if u p/x it in with JUST the tints on,u may get a few quid more, take the spoiler graphics and wheels off tho,the wheels arent subtle enough,if they were plain 17" 5 spokes id leave em on,but theyre too "modified" for the everyday consumer,do u have the standard alloys?

yeah the car is quite different now actually, im posting pics in the MMC because the ghastly vinyl has come off, so has the spoiler (got an EVO type) and its had a qucik spray to brighten it up. I know the alloys are a bit loud thats why i asked becaue they arent very subtle are they!

After checking with Parkers I should get £1995 p/ex so anything more would be a bonus.

sell it private, that way someone who wants a project will pick it up,and they'll give more than 2k

If your looking for Part Exchange then put it back to standard mate as you will get less for it being modofied.

If you sell if privatly and IF you can find the right buyer then you MIGHT get more with it being modified but its a very limited market....

I know but eBay is a waste of time because no-one ever pays and where else to advertise? Auto-trader I think is rubbish because you cant see the pictures and I have already posted on here but had noreplies.

I'll consider both p/ex and private but just wanted to see how other ppl have got on with theirs.

Ive sold over 10 cars on e-bay, no problems at all.....

Autotrader also haweb-based advertising where you can host loads of pictures.

I got offered £1000 for my rover 200 when it had been lowered, the alloys, and the ice that was in it. but he said that if i took it all off then he would give me £1400. apparently it would be easyer to sell without any mods!
