As title says, anyone got one? I have one on order been waiting for 4 months and it comes next week. Saw one today in b&q looked nice. Getting the gran coupe. Any one have any feedback on them?
Tempting to think this post is either a pretentious boast or a complete lie ... I mean spending thousands of pounds on a car ...then asking a Wirral forum board if anyone has one or for feedback ?? Hmmmmm
Do you think so Gary? I decided against the BMW and have gone for the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale Centennial Ed.for my summer ride. My daily drive is a Peugeot 3008 so as not to appear so pretentious lol
Thought I should add, just in case it's true, lucky barsteward!
Don't worry Garry, you might be able to get one now you have a job
Last time I checked this was the auto section? This forum was originally cruise Wirral forum (a car forum!) it's not pretentious or a lie to get a new car. I work hard like most people on here and I like to use my money on cars amongst other things. Jeez!
Forget I asked.
TCL don't pay any attention to the little green man.
Hope you weren't offended by my comment. It was probably a poor attempt at humour towards Garys post. Being genuine, that is a nice choice. It's a slick looking car combining function and form. It would be my choice; like I said, lucky barsteward. You earn it, buy what gives you pleasure.
Thanks dilly, makes me feel ashamed to be getting a car. The guy knows nothing about me or the price yet feels compelled to make a flippant comment. Could even be a company car for all he knows. No thought and seriously disrespectful. Anyway, there you have it
Thanks gee, I have never been a BMW fan to be honest. Just had a e250 sport and am driving a borrowed slk amg (massive fuel costs!) 5.5 v8 whilst I have been waiting for this one to arrive. Truth be told every time I see one I am torn on them. Can't decide if I really like them or not. Chris Evans reviewed the M4 last week and gave it top marks. One week to go!
some good lease deals on the 4 series TheComputerLab,anyway its nice to get a new car good luck what ever you get
I'm sure it will be worth the wait. Test drove an SLK a couple of years ago and loved it, a relative of mine bought it and swears by its reliability and comfort, he lives in the states so fuel costs aren't such a problem.
I must have led a sheltered life, what is a slk amg? my little corsa does me for work, but if you travel a lot to and from work I suppose you need a big car.
Nice cars the 4 series.
Good choice,i cant see why anyone would say its a wind up post?
Ive got a XFR supercharged Jaguar and have worked hard to get it,i could understand if someone had asked if any other members had a Mclaren F1 etc though lol.

Haven't got one myself, but I know someone who has. He also recently collected a P1 from Woking but his feelings about it are mixed; he says it's too wide and he much prefers the central seating position of the F1. It seems likely that he will sell the P1 and order a 675LT.
There's a red F430 in the for sale section if you fancy it Gary
Ha! Nice one dilly!
Yep lease deals are very good, hence that's exactly what I got
Bet youll miss the Slk 55 (not the fuel cost tho)
I had the Slk 55 Amg for 2 years and still miss it.The performance and noise with the roof down was fantastic. That glorious V8 at full pelt was totally intoxicating.
I know sounds like organised chaos! Might get out today with the roof off! Weather is nice enough.
Ok just let me know when your about in Wallasey village so i can jump in for a blast,i miss mine
I live in the village mate, just off mosslands drive.
black slk burbles past every day at around 730 am and 615 pm
1 more week of taking spare underpants with me to work then I get a normal car again!
Lol ok mate.. keep an eye out at 6.15 pm this week for a hitchhiker outside Lidl

you can't have nice things down on mosslands drive. I had an in-car dvd player with bluetooth and ipod connector thing installed in my car, cost a lot of money to buy then more to install, it lasted about 24 hours before someone smashed both my windows and bent my door back to rob it. The frustrating thing is they snapped ALL the wires so it was useless to them and even if i got it back it was useless to me. i lived on school lane up by the school back then.
Thats really nasty Demo..
so annoying.
My car (and us) live in a secluded place, way off the beaten track and not accessable to the public, however, ive been subject to car vandalism in the past.
Nasty gits need hanging grr!
I think I have been very lucky over the years. Never had any major issues, thankfully.
Just a little tale. In 2005 I was working in the N/East and I used to pass a showroom on the way back to my digs.Always had a fine display of class motors.Anyway, I was going past on Saturday afternoon and I spotted a silver Beemer ragtop.Looked really nice, parked up and went to have a look.First thing I noticed was a bump on the bonnet.Walked round the back, bloody hell, it had 4 exhaust pipes sticking out.Anyway, salesman appeared and asked if I'd like a little run round the block,He drove.Bloody hell, never ever experienced anything with acceleration like that.Well, couldn't help myself.About an hour or so later I was the proud owner of a beautiful B.M.W. M3 ragtop.S.M.G. Gearbox, paddles or a stick gear change and loads of electric buttons, knobs etc.I have to say, best car I've ever had,and still have. Its done 98,000 miles and still as sharp as ever. She's been well looked after, full service history etc., in fact if it ever needs anything it's done.I haven't seen many about, I don't know why, they are fantastic cars. The down side is I'm 69 in September, plus, diagnosed with Bowel Cancer 2 years ago, which has now spread into my bones, which now means it's Terminal.I'd give anything just to have a run up to Conway, my lad has a 40ft. Fishing boat moored in the river.Days fishing, nice steady run home, roof off, couldn't be happier. Sorry if I've bored anyone to death, but I was just feeling a bit melancholy. Thanks Phil.
Sorry to hear you have problems, Phil. I'm on the way out too; I have pulmonary fibrosis and it's getting worse. At least I have the means for a peaceful exit and I doubt I'll see another winter. I hope you get your trip to Conway.
All the best, Chris.
Thanks for pulling up the sandbag and sharing tankrat. Great story tinged with sadness. Hope you get your trip sorted.
Which engine?
The 4 pots are a bit gutless.
I like the 4GC over the 3 series for sure. A bit more refined and the hatch helps over the boot.
435d is a cracking motor I've driven a few times.
But petrol all the way if you don't do many miles.
Literally just arrived on the drive way. Not had it out yet but git an early start in the morning. Hour drive to get to know it! Nice story Phil, shows how we all take the simple things in life for granted, always to busy with work and other bullshit to enjoy the small pleasures.
First impressions of the car is, it's well built. The computer seems overly complicated..
It's a bit dark out but here she is...
Nice, which one did you go for?
I assume 420d otherwise he'd have said.
I assume 420d otherwise he'd have said.
I highly doubt he would go from an AMG merc to a 2.0litre diesel.
He commented himself on the massive fuel costs and had a 250 prior to that so... it's hardly far fetched pal.
Hi, 420D M Sport. Nice car to drive. Has a few issues that I will have to get on with. It's not a very well though off car. Lots of small things that make you think "why on hell did they design it like that??"
My car before this was an 2012 e250 sport merc and the slk55. I think I have been spoiled by merc, there are very few bells and whistles on mercy but everything there serves a role, nothing is a gimmic.
On the b&w it has satellite imagery with weather forecasts yet it does have the ability to control the dual climate with a single nob... Nor can you leave the auto wipers on... Must be turned on every time you get in.... Small things but just not really very good!

Anyway, nice looking car.
Get what you're saying re the auto wipers for example. Having to hit the little button on the stalk each and every time.
Although to be honest I never find auto wipers all that effective so probably wouldn't use them.
Another annoying thing is the auto-hold, it leaves the brake lights on.
Also, I'd prefer not to have to turn stop-start off every time you get in the car although it does become second nature after a while.
Only issue I have with Merc is the VERY dated interior in all but the very recent stuff.
Mate has a CLS and it's like an old man's living room in there.
Lol, old mans living room, yes I couldn't agree more. The new ones though, God ugly! The screen looks like the designer completely forgot about it and then at the end just went "shit, the screen... Put it here!!"
Nice car.
I stand corrected HansG.
Just come across this.
I too am joining the 4 series fold. Although I've only just had my build slot confirmed and estimated delivery is 24/08/2015.
435d M Sport X-Drive Sports Auto, Alpine White with Coral Red leather the same as the first posters, but coupe.
Debadge option box ticked and the 442m 19" alloys.
It will look like this;
Hi Guys, still hangin on, just got another setback,no feeling in my right leg.Specialist said "nerve damage". Just got out of bed 3 weeks ago, went on my arse, my "Specialist", had a feel and a grope, "Nerve Damage", yet again nothing He can do. I think He's done enough damage.Consequently, can't walk, but they've given me a brand new lecky wheelchair. From "Speed Freak" to crippled 68 yr old grumpy Pensioner. People sat "Shit Happens", tell me about it.Anyway, moan over. So, consequently, after 10 years of absolute pleasure and bliss, plus moments of sheer terror, I've made the heart wrenching decision to part with my beloved M3. I,have just had had a full service done, and had a Valet, (wanna keep Her now, she looks lovely).I hate seeing Her sitting on the Drive, she should be driven. My wife can't drive Her,(she's only little).the Bride's got a lovely little Beemer, It's a 2001,Z3 Beemer, with a black soft top(new),as usual, she keeps it sparkling. Its only done 23,000 mrs.We live in Bromborough, and the furthes She goes is to Asda and back, maybe Conway to the boat sometimes.Well, better get my breakfast, sorry I go on and on, but as you know, Idon't get out much.Thanks. Phil.
Hello Phil, that's an awful shame, sorry to hear it.
Have you got any pictures of your M3?
That's some power! My 435d as standard has, I think, 308bhp (and 4wd) and it'll hit 60 in under 5 seconds. That must shift some.
So... the next and obvious question... surely it's not just a remap?
Yes, its had more than just a std remap
Other than the usual ECU tweeking its had some hardware upgrades too. Initially the car had an EcoTune std flash remap, the generic type... Car went very well, and would do 50mpg on a run and even 35mpg towing my race car!
Following the hardware upgrades, I knew the only way to get the most from it, was a custom map, rather then a generic flash. I took the car to a local company to get it custom mapped for more power. The result was more power, but now the car struggled to do 35mpg on a run!?!? - I deleted that map, and over wrote it back with the EcoTune map again.
Anyways, a few weeks after that I was working In Glasgow, where Ecotune are based, I dropped the car with them, went to work, and picked it up a few hours later. The graph show the before (Ecotune Generic map) and after (Ecotune Custom Map). The car also averaged 45mpg on the 500 mile round trip, inc the time the car was on the dyno.
It just goes to show that a) all tuners are not equal (Ecotune got me the power AND economy) b) the advantage of a good custom tune, over a generic tune.
The limitation on my car is now the turbos, as they have now reached their max airflow. Hybrid turbos are the next step, they are £2.5k, but should see 435bhp / 630ft/lb.
Absolute weapon. Times have really changed. I used to see 30mpg as the target, anything under and I felt a bit guilty tipping £100+ worth of petrol into the tank. Over and I felt justified I was doing my bit (albeit diesel now!).
Now I think that mark is somewhere around 50mpg. If I can sit at 70 on a relaxing run and get that but also (as standard) launch it off the line to 60 in under 5 seconds then it's absolutely the best of both worlds.
Chased my order today. Still looking at mid-August but I suggested leaving it until 1st September so I get a 65 plate.
Good news out of Williams in Liverpool was that the current build 435d in M Sport guise is getting Pro Media Pack as standard which means the better 3D nav, extended bluetooth, all the apps etc (I can lock/unlock/track/warm the car remotely on the iPhone app) and the full black dials etc so I'm a happy chappy.
Full electric heated memory seats, built in HDD, DAB, Xenons etc. Can't wait. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas.
