Its a pretty easy job - if you remove the airbox there is enough room to get a shifter on it and turn it - I changed mine on my Eunos at the weekend smile

I'm a complete novice

Problem I may have is my eunos is registered as a mx5 mk1 uk
Posted By: StuyMac Re: Lambda sensor mx5 - 19th Mar 2014 12:32am
As long as it's been imported, ie it says it was registered (in the uk)after it was first used it's obvious it's been imported - mine also says mx5 on the log book, but that it was first used / made in 92, but registered in 02.

The mk1s don't need a cat for the mot, they only need a pre cat emissions test. However, it does still need the lambda to lean the mixture on cruise as it runs a basic closed loop system. If the lambda isn't working, on cruise and idle it will run rich and fail even the pre cat test.

Best place to get a lambda?
Posted By: Lando Re: Lambda sensor mx5 - 19th Mar 2014 9:40am
I'm ok it's a 1990 model, so falls into non cat catagory, so it has to be the lambda

euro are generally best, go off the price on their site and then tell them you can get it cheaper and get some more off wink

i got one for my 182 about £15.00 cheaper than their on line price.

Looking at the cost of one I could probably do this for about £90. Euros are quoting £76 for the lambda. Plus some bits and bibs to get the old one out smile
