i decieded to do boot in stall from wifes mazda 121 saloon
list of items needed

2 10" subs
1 150 watt amp
wiring kit
2 round sheets of clear plastic
MDF
leather covering
seat filler

frist thing i did was to make a template from card of the space i wanted the subs to go

then i copyed that onto the mdf and cut it out

also cuting the hole for the sub at the same time once this was done i test fitted the mdf to the car and fine tuned the mdf for a better fit.
useing the cut mdf i made two over size peices from the seating form and the leather and then started to stapel the leather to the mdf

remebering to cut the hole again for the sub.

once this done and your happy with it test fit again and if that ok fit the subs and amp and install

i am going to make a bottom board and reline the back off the seats ill post pics and what ive after ive it

How are they retained in place?
What i'm getting at is, dont they fall out going around corners?
Or do they rattle around at all?

it took about 3 hours to get this far
thay are retained by the metal strap and base of the seats and a clip at the top which was in the car wife say there no rattle at all i am wireing them up tomorrow and finishing it off i will update.

yer there only 10inch and work fine ive finished the bottom of the boot (post pic later)and i will be working on the back of the seats and parcel shelf at the weekend.

Looks gud but Just to let u know they wont sound good not being boxed. The majority of subs need to be boxed unless they are free air which even some of them need boxes.

the box effect is behind the MDF she doesnt have them loud and are working fine with no problems yet...

yes but a sub to work properly it needs to be in
an enclosed box (sealed box) unless the subs are
free air subs, so for the subs to sound their best u need to follow the manufactures spec for
for cubic centimeters, in the sealed box. good effort tho like the sapce saver box's u can buy, looks good
