hi there,
can any one help i have a kia sportage 1999 t reg, i have noticed that there is a smell of petrol from the rear of car drivers side not noticed it when driving only when engine is switched off had a quick look by rear wheel pipe looks ok havent looked under the car though as im no mechanic and female dont know what im looking for apart from this the car drives superb for its age ANY ADVICE please car soon due for mot dont want high costs if it is somthing i can get a friend/family member to help with thanx for reading this

Could be the washer on the petrol filler cap they tend to wear with over tightening and a cheap fix if it is.

possible leaky fuel filter' most cars have them located in that area underneath.

there also is oil from the gasket underside looked on other web sites and it states that the petrol smell and oil all point to the fuel filter can anyone confirm this please
