I hope someone can help me here!
Due to some oik trying to break into my car about 8 months ago, the outside drivers door handle doesn't work. I have had the panel off and the mechanism is behind a sheet of perspex so I can't get at it but I can see that the plastic connector has snapped.
Question is, as I am due for an MOT next month, will this be a cause for a fail?

Thanks guys.

Yes, it'll fail.

Door needs to be able to be opened from the outside.

I have the same problem on mine at the moment, due to a snapped cable.

Here's a handy site that answers your MOT related questions....

Worth a look. Nobody is correct on the door sketch.

I have arranged for a pal who works at Autoglass to look at mine.

Croc, if you get the part you need I can ask him to fit it for you. He's obviously got the skills and the tools to remove the door cards and other bits and he'll do it for a couple of cans!

Even £41.46 seems steep!

My parts come to £70 odd and that's with BMW added tax!

Have you tried wirral spares or the one's on cleveland st,i wouldn't be happy paying that much for a plastic bit on door handle

ps have you phoned jm speeds in rock ferry, they are pretty cheap for spares, and if they havn't got it in stock order comes next day
