I need to find a garage I can trust near Bebington that can do MOTs, fit and balance tyres etc without taking my car for a "test drive" or use an airgun to snap off wheel studs..
Any recommendations?

All garages use airguns, if they didn't they'd hardly get any work done!
They break it they fix it free of charge.

Just had an MOT at Village Motor Company - well worth the drive I'd say as they were professional, clean facility, efficient and did exactly what they say. I'm not a regular bill-punter customer either as I'm 10+ years motortrade myself smile

All garages use airguns to snap off wheelnuts? I only know of two through rather painful personal experience and I avoid them like them plague!
I also know of one garage that must be rather unique as they use a magical piece of equipment called a "torque wrench", apparently this avoids overtightenning the wheelnuts so they don't snap the studs leaving a wheel flying off into oncoming traffic and the car skidding in to a verge.
Sadly this garage is over a hundred miles away, torque wrenches obviously havent made it to New Brighton at least.

Fixing something free of charge is not enough, leaving a car in a dangerous condition is simply criminal.

I never do anything but TR on wheels, buzz up with speed brace, final Torque with a wrench - its a good habit I got into years ago. It was at least a caution offence at my first two employers (one in Essex, the other in Surrey) to NOT torque up wheels correctly.

I think Giff is being very fussy, what vehicle is it you require the work on?

I can recommend keywest autos but it will cost you wink

Their garage is very clean too, probably cleaner than your oven wink

They also only use the best up to date equipment & tools (even the mot ramp has a 50" plasma) & they have a nice selection of classics to view while you wait smile

Not near bebington though.

Yup, Chris from keywest is a very helpful chap.

Orchard Quick fit, St Pauls Rd, Rock Ferry. Family run business. They won't tell you that things need doing if it doesn't.

This looks promising.

Just had a bit of a disaster at Callows, I took in four new wheels to have tyres fitted like I've had done there before.
It started well enough with one guy fitting them but then he was called away and two other lads started doing them on either side of the garage so I couldnt see what was going on.
Ended up with two damaged alloys and the wrong valves fitted.
I despair sometimes.
