I liked Snoop Doggy Dogg's reference to his 1959 Cadillac Coupe De Ville on his seminal debut album 'Tha Doggpound'.

Seems to be pretty expensive despite claims that its cheaper than a spray job.

But surely a competitve price on wrapping would be cheaper, it is not a permanent change of colour, can have a more effective colour change and a protective layer over your original paint.

To give you an idea, recent special offer on standard wrapping ...

Car roof  £140.00

Car bonnet £150.00

Pair of wing mirrors £70.00

i understand pricing looks expensive, but how much would that cost to get sprayed.

Also who priced that for you

oh, and what is 'standard wrapping'?
what vinyl do they use? is it cast or calanered?
Posted By: diggingdeeper Re: car wrapping... - 21st Feb 2011 7:55pm
That's "elitefilms", which I think is Sound Waves in Holburn Square, Rock Ferry. For specialised finishes - chrome, carbon etc you probably can't beat it (noting that they are higher priced wrapping) but for standard finishes I think its a bit dear.

Martin at unit3 will do your roof and bonnet in carbon for a very similar price. And they have had specialist trainning from the manufacturers

Unit 3 is far superior imo, Martin goes the ectra 10 miles to make sure your happy with the finish.

I saw an E90 BMW 320d wrapped in matt black yesterday.

It looked OK except very strange seeing a bog standard diesel rep-car in matt black!

look to see if they have had dints and scratches filled, cos wrapping in matt black will show up all the dings.

or look for joins in the vynal or around lights and tricky to wrap bits.

but you shouldnt be able to tell the difference, well you cant on the cars i have done unless you look very closely

There's an Audi TT on Teehey Lane that I think has been wrapped in matt black, it looks like a decent job.

Is that the one that used to be blue or the one over the road from it?

It looks like a 320d M Sport which has been wrapped and had the wheels darkened to match?

I didn't clock anything else on it that wasn't standard?
