im wanting to get some extra horsies out of my car, ive blanked the egr valve off, ive gutted the air box and put a k&n pannal filter in there, the engine is the x16xe (100hp) with the egr valve at the back of engine, im putting a de-cat pipe on today but is there any other cheap ways to gain power without turbocharging?? any help would be great, cheers ppl
fit a bigger engine or sell it and by my bro's W plate Gsi.
Get onto VVOC.com some helpful hints on there.
do the cams out of the 1.8 fit these?!
also maybe bigger injectors of the 1.8 maybe worth trying all can be got from a scrappy fer cheap
You can get loads of tuning parts for the 1.6 as it came in the Corsa GSi. You can get cheap V6 engines (200 quid), I wouldn't imagine the 1.6 would be fast in a Vectra, they're quite heavy, I'd really think about putting something like that in it.
It's the Intake on the 1.6 which hold these engines back, change that and they free up quite a few bhp.
what intake could i put on?
Not sure what the X16XE is standard (or if it's identical to the Corsa one, which it probably is), but they're quite capable of 150 bhp with the inlet changed. Head was 'Designed by Lotus' and all that.
