We’ve caught the Corsa! This is the fresh-faced Vauxhall supermini, which has been captured on test in Germany ahead of its launch in showrooms here next year.

The third-generation model has been on the market since 2006, and is set to get a more up-to-date new look. As the disguise on the car in our picture suggests, the main changes come at the front. But it will also get new tail-lights and bumpers.

Inside, the hatch will benefit from a simple and easy-to-use layout, which is likely to offer as much standard equipment as other models in the Vauxhall range.

Under the bonnet will be a number of changes. A range of petrol and diesel ecoFLEX powerplants promises strong fuel returns of up to 71mpg, as well as low emissions. As a result, most models will incur road tax at only £35 a year.

Meanwhile, a sporty VXR version, fitted with a 1.6-litre turbocharged unit, will offer 0-60mph in seven seconds and a top speed of about 140mph.

As yet, there are no solid details on release dates and pricing, but the base model should be available for around £10,500 and arrive in dealers by early 2010.

Don't like the grey blanket on the bonnet.
