having problems with me vectra, it keeps cutting out at lights and its starting to piss me right off, can anyone advise me?

i have to keep the revs up to stop it from stalling

At a wild guess, idle-control valve lol. Is it an Ecotec?

is the engine managment light on?
also whats the rev range like normal or lumpy. apart from the no idle?
as above really check idle control valve

the engine magament light isnt on mate
revs are normal

do you have reasonable knowledge of cars? do you know where the idle control valve is on your car?

no knowledge mate to this car mate, i was told it might have somethink to do with the vacum pipes

also on the note of vacuum pipes is there an like sucking/blowing chocking noises whilst running? pop the bonnet and get someone to keep it running and listen under the bonnet to see! thats a typical sign of leaky vacuum hoses!
