Great news and what a start to the new season.

As so many predicted after winter testing, Brawn have filled the front row in Melbourne. Button is on pole position with Barrichello on grid 2. Red bull's Vettel on 3rd, this is great news for the British team's. What a start for the season. But hey! Let's see what tomorrow brings! Can Lewis improve or salvage anything from his troublesome car? Knowing Lewis, he probably will!

Q3 laps were:

1 Button 1:26.202
2 Barrichello 1:26.505
3 Vettel 1:26.830

Overall fastest lap in qualifying was Barrichello's 1:24.783 during Q2.

I personally dont think Brawn will keep this good form up, its a meer blip on the radar. Hopefully for the rest of the season theyll keep within the top ten.

Im hoping Mclaren find the source of their problems and rectify it A.S.A.P... Im wanting Lewis to go for number 2, not let Ferrari run away with it

I have to agree with there mate. It's early days for anyone yet but fingers crossed and they'll at least do good on scoring points for the team throughout the season.

It's good to come across someone else who not a big fan of Ferrari!

Looking forward to the 1st race tomorrow, Lewis is starting on the 18th grid I think. That's gonna be some hard work and some good action!

well that was some race! What a result with Hamilton coming in at 4th place. Let's not forget there's an appeal going on, if Brawn GP lose the case, that puts Lewis in 2nd place.

The Brawn Mercedes doesn't have a KERS fitted while Mclaren does. If Brawn loose the rear diffuser design, this'll put the Mclaren in front.

Have to say though, to me it doesn't matter which team wins...as long it's British!

Was a superb race... got so much stick off everyone at uni for still liking Hamilton...but to come from 18 to 4th with an underperforming car is exempalary, I think pretty much explains it all. Shame that Trulli had his podium taken away.

At least Button finally has number 2 under his belt, and in a fair manner, not just extreme weather conditions with the top drivers all crashing out/retiring.

Bring on number 2 happy

Hamo has now been awarded 2nd as truli passed on a yellow YAY

That would make Lewis 3rd, he was 4th over the line.

This is what I like about F1, you never now what can happen next!

Just realized! If Brawn GP lose the diffuser case, that'll leave Lewis in 1st postion!..........But do we want that to happen? I think Jenson deserved 1st place.

Jenson deserves the win as its his first real one showing that he actually has the drive and need to be a racing driver..not just "The next best driver".

Would be a farce to penalise Brawn GP, theyre a brand new team, and the championship has a whole new set of rules that everyone still has to get used to.

Well see though, either way, a Brit will have won the Australian GP laugh
