That's a mean trick, 3/4 of the picture wasn't a Triumph GT6 - the bonnet has a completely different line plus chrome trim, the wheels not original, its got the wrong bumper on - this thing could qualify for Q reg!
Got to admit if someone did the vents aftermarket they look great, but I think this is a complete replacement bonnet.
Those trims are MK3 GT6 trims. They where out on the really early cars. I had a mk1 Vitesse 2 litre which im sure you know was practically the same car with a herald Body. The bonnets where slightly differnt to fit the bigger engine. They did add bits here and there to differentiate from a standard Spitty.
It could well be an aftermarket fibreglass bonnet shaped without bulged but with added vents.

Couldve made a good sports car to rival the Ferrari dino's and such. Send an Essex off to Cosworth to build a lower spec Quad cam Essex V6 (they intended to use the essex in road based cars and actually made a prototype with one in) from the Broadspeed Capri's (3.4 450bhp and 6 ITB's in the 70's with no turbos in sight!) and it couldve been something VERY special.
