Oh aye yea, Ive been at a Rallyschool in Mk2... Its all about the throttle and steering etc..

But it would be a lot easier to get an Rs1800 sideways than a 1.1

You can pick up a 1600 for about £100 with a box. Straight swap and about 3 times the power of the 1.1. If you get a GT you get the bigger carb and 4 branch and better head. Put a good exhaust on and filter and your good for 95bhp. A cam and youll have 100-105bhp. Doesnt sound much but in something that weights sod all its plenty smile

I've had a mk2. Didn't really have the presence as it does now. I absolutely love them. My first car was a white stripped out 1600 mk1 with bubble arches and a roll cage, that I bought for 150 quid, it'd be worth a fortune now. I scrapped it when either the gearbox/diff or half shaft snapped went. frown

I've also seen two 3-dr mk2 driving round the Wirral. One yellow and one white, driven by old people.

Their was a mk1 in Hooton/Brom area years back, Ltus Sunbeam 16v motor stripped with just a fuel tank in the back and cage, 2 seats. Pity the lad sold it for an Audi Quattro and killed a young girl in Brom frown
