Diesel Service (Basic)

I have a Ford Fiesta so your Service may be different
but basically the same.

Air Filter
Oil Filter
Fuel Filter
Oil Change

Check the levels is something you can do too.
Water / Anti Freeze
Brake Fluid
Steering Fluid

Check over your Tyres as i found that one one side
my tyre was wearing down much more than the other side. (inner to outer).

The Service - For Diesel Cars Hope this helps
I haven't took pictures of the Oil and Filter as i was oily lol

Parts.
Be aware that you could have been sold the wrong part it
happens so do have a get out clause a mate with a car lol
You can buy any of these from any Motor Factors locally.
My bits came to £50 but i got decent Oil.

Air Filter (Trust them to sell me the wrong one frown )
The air filter can cause poor starting and smoking.
Not always the 100% but a air filter will help.

Oil Filter
Should be changed when you do a full oil change.
When removing its going to be full of oil so be aware.
Also when putting the new one on, put a lick of oil
around the rubber seal.

NOTE : Re-Check the oil levels after running the engine
as the Oil Filter can hold alot of oil and your levels drop.

Oil
I need just over 5L
I went for the semi synthetic oil as there is alot of milage
on my motor every year. And its a "Diesel Oil" not Petrol Oil.
So make sure you ask for a "Diesel Oil".
I need to buy more as the oil Filter dropped my
levels to half from full. And its handy to have a re-fill bottle.

Fuel Filter
This isn't at all like a Petrol In-line Fuel Filter.
And on mine needs a special tool to remove the pipes
but 2 screwdrivers done the trick wink

Locating
Once you know what the bits look like its not too difficult
to find out where they are under the engine.

This is where my Fuel Filter is

Now with it removed.

And the new one in place.

From this picture you can see that the air filter is
on the other side of the engine bay.

-------
What i couldnt show was how akward the oil filter was to reach.
And i found Jacking up the car helped alot for access.

And a drip tray catching the oil, an after thought was
a paint try could have done the trick a treat wink

Please feel free to add to this topic.
As its only a basic view to be helpfull to help you.
