Well what a day! The Welsh weather held out great, the air wasn’t too cold nor too hot, just the right temperature to have a good ride without overheating.
It’s been around 10 months since I last sat on my bike, and fook me I’m out of shape. My fitness really hit home on the first section of the trail as its all uphill. Well apart from being not as fit as I used to be, I only have 1 38tooth chain ring on the front so some hills are just plain impossible to get up; so I spent a fair amount of time walking up hills.
Once past the hills is where things get interesting and you start to realise why you actually came on the bike ride in the first place. Starting with small single track you make your way through a series of heavily wooded forest trails, hitting burms, small drops (if you wish to take that route) to ‘north shore’ trails (

The ride if cycled without stopping should take roughly 1.5 – 2 hrs, but I like to take in the Welsh air and surrounding (by walking up hills
) so it took me a bit longer.
When you finally get to the end, you can go to the onsite café and have a full blow English if you want as a nice reward.
10/10 ride
Only got one pic of me – not a very good one at that
