The government's proposal to introduce road pricing will mean you having topurchase a tracking device for your car and paying a monthly bill to use it.
The tracking device will cost about £200 and in a recent study by the BBC,the lowest monthly bill was £28 for a rural florist and £194 for a deliverydriver.
A non working Mum who used the car to take the kids to school paid £86 inone month.
On top of this massive increase in tax, you will be tracked. Somebody willknow where you are at all times.
They will also know how fast you have beengoing, so even if you accidentally creep over a speed limit you can expect aNIP with your monthly bill.

The only thing this scheme has in its favour is the fact that fuel tax might be scrapped.

I personally don't believe even Labour are stupid enough to introduce this scheme as they know the motorist's are very powerful voters, and unless it works out cheaper for the majority of voters, there would be a HUGE backlash at the next elections.

But imho, if the government need more money, instead of taxing us all, they should stop wasting it!

The goverment tax driving as though it is a luxury item like fags or booze, when in reality its a bare nessescity for most people, its the key to their livelyhood's and without it, the country would all but grind to a halt!

signed up, however, it may be a good thing if they scrapped road tax and fuel tax to do this, but...they wouldnt do this if it wasnt going to earn them more money, and people will lose their license very easily as speeding happens, accidents will also increase as people will be watching their speedo constantly
