I wish people wouldn't bother. Bonfire night reduces our poor dog to quivering terrified jelly!

I sympathise with you ,my own dog always had to be sedated in the days leading up to Nov 5 but it was the fireworks not burning garden waste that bothered her .The council permit you to burn waste at any time of year so it's better to get it all out of the way during the one evening, unfortunately shops sell fireworks to early. There should be a total ban on all fireworks all year round. Hope your dog doesn't get to stressed .

Its often quoted on the internet that you are allowed bonfires, garden fires etc in smokeless zones ...

However the Government say "You can’t get rid of household waste if it will cause pollution", there aren't many types of fire that don't cause pollution.
