The historic Birkenhead Town Hall is opening its doors on Saturday 20th April, 2013 for the Wirral History & Heritage Association’s annual fair
That will be interesting Derekdwc, Nice building. Only hope they've been around with the duster first!

Should be a good event and thanks for posting.

Are we still allowed to park on the square(if there's space)?

Being a silly old duffer I went this saturday, found the town hall closed, realised my mistake and had a wander around the area and took a few pics.

If the weather's at least 10 degrees warmer, I'm planning to come up for this.
Bumping this item as the date is fast approaching.

Yes, but it's not cheap: 50p. per 1/2 hour.
I'm driving to Hooton and getting the train from there.
Free parking at Green Lane Station, then the train from there.

I parked free right next to the entrance - no charge

All Hail Mayor Derek
Spent over 3 hours (without having a ciggie) wandering round various tables. I'm only sorry I didn't look at the brochure of the tables as I missed some that I'd have liked to have words at.
I don't recall ever seeing or riding on a single decker Birkenhead Corporation bus, I was told there were only 4 of them and they mainly ran between Eastham and New Ferry and were withdrawn when a some people were killed in an accident involving one.

Sadly no.
There may have been others there, but unless you have met any other members regularly on any of the actities on wiki (walks,UE's,ghosthunts, buying and selling, or pub meets, we are strangers to each other if our paths should cross.
Should have had my wikiwirral id card displayed
I was there, but didn't see you, Derek. I was in Gallagher's at 11 a.m. for about half an hour in case anyone turned up.
The 2015 Wirral History & Heritage Fair is on 7th March at Birkenhead Town Hall.

Hamilton Square station is closed but there's a shuttle bus from Birkenhead Central and Conway Park stations.
Thanks for the heads-up.
Flagging this as a reminder - only a week to go.
