Went to the Pirate Muster - lovely to see New Brighton so full of happy people, many of whom (of all ages) were decidedly piratical! Rather surreal actually, because there was a scooter gathering at the Harrison Drive end, but some scooter riders (complete with parkas) came up to the cafes, so there was this 'Quadrophenia with pirates' vibe going on. Sun shone, cafes did brisk trade, all seemed good.

Lots of nice people did a lot of hard work in the background to make the pirate muster work.

Wasn't there mate but helped the master gunner to put up the scaffold for the gun on Friday in the pouring rain, watched from the our radio tower as those nice people built and painted all the bits and pieces well I would have done but they were in the marquee laugh .

Have you been to see our Titanic radio room yet?.

We are going to make some changes, but they will have to wait as we are having a small remembrance service on the 29th at the fort for one of our radio guys who went off watch, permanently the other week.
