Wirral Council will award its highest honour - Freedom of Entry to the Borough - to:
  • 107 (Lancashire and Chester) Field Squadron Royal Engineers (Volunteers)
  • 234 (Wirral) Transport Squadron Royal Logistics Corps (Volunteers)

The award is in recognition of their Outstanding Service to the borough.

Both Squadrons will parade through Birkenhead, starting at Birkenhead Park (at the junction of Park Rd East and Park Rd South) at 10.30am. They will then march through Birkenhead Town Centre before reaching Hamilton Square for a public ceremony and medal parade at 11.00am.

Fabulous day! So glad the rain pretty much held off apart from a few spots. Lovely to see the 3 gentlemen presented with their medals from the Sandpit along with both Sqn's getting the Freedom of Entry to the Borough! The photo calls at the end resulted in a lot of giggles smile

Thanks to all of them, not only for a great day, but for all they do clap

It was good to see them being honoured. Went to the Zeebrugge Commemoration in Wallasey yesterday too, that wasn't a bad one either, pity there wasn't a bad though. Good turn out.
