If you pop into the Museum of Liverpool today (new museum on Waterfront), you can see the new History Detectives gallery which documents human activity in the local area from the end of the ice-age onwards. There will be guided talks every hour by archaeologists, with all the information firmly rooted in the north-west. Loads of Wirral-related finds there too, including West Kirby hogback, Overchurch Runic Stone, Leasowe Man skull, Greasby Mesolithic Flints, Storeton Bronze Age rapier, and many more.

Was there but went to the Kings Liverpool and Port of Liverpool new galleries. Stunning and so much info.
It really is good also for visitors to Merseyside.

I saw you at 1pm doing your stuff and would have come over for the talk had I known a Wiki Wirral member was doing it. Trouble is so much to see that you need more than one visit.
