The Princess Royal is to visit Chester on 21st September to take the salute from the company of HMS Albion.

Before taking the salute at the top of the Town Hall steps, the Princess will inspect the Colour Party, Guard and Band of HMS Albion.

My Uncle who was in the Royal Navy in WWII is going down to Portsmouth and sailing back to Liverpool on HMS Albion. He is thrilled at being asked, he's 87yrs old bless him!

Spoke to my Uncle earlier. He travels down to I think Plymouth not Portsmouth tomorrow,then sets sail on Monday for arrival in Liverpool on Tuesday. He says that they are sailing up the Mersey around 2.30pm and docking around 4pm.
