So they are culling lollipop men and women for the sake of 50 grand yet they can afford to put on firework displays that cost god knows what?

Mind well and truly boggled. Sorry if that sounds kill joyish but priorities are all wrong.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Bonfire Night 2008 - 30th Oct 2008 12:31pm
i dont think priorities are wrong the firework displays are there to keep us and are kids safe just like the lollipop men & women.

Posted By: MissGuided Re: Bonfire Night 2008 - 30th Oct 2008 1:21pm
yes, because A&E have enough divs with burns coming in on that night as it is! Although if people go to displays then do their own (like joe said), are they really keeping anyong safe?

You know the worlds going to Pot, when Joes allowed to buy what are basically miniature weapons hahahahahaha
Posted By: BMW Joe Re: Bonfire Night 2008 - 2nd Nov 2008 7:36pm
Need to remember to follow instructions, because for this one we didn't....

Started of as a fountain then fire two rockets in the air, tipped over and pointed at us, then fired a third in our direction.

Note to self: do as instructions say

Posted By: Wheels Re: Bonfire Night 2008 - 3rd Nov 2008 8:04am
joe did you buy them in bromborough? £9 rockets and £30 box wink
Posted By: BMW Joe Re: Bonfire Night 2008 - 3rd Nov 2008 10:09am
Certainly did mate wink

Set one of the rockets off last night, and they're not bad for £9.

They dont screach, but they are fairly louds when they go off

Anyone know where to get really loud ones from? lol
Posted By: BMW Joe Re: Bonfire Night 2008 - 3rd Nov 2008 11:05pm
Bought some more fireworks

Went to Wallasey this time, little firework shop near ASDA.

Got a selection box, pack of 10 screamers, pack of sparklers and a pack of rockets for £20

They're selling this selection box for £25 too:

[Linked Image]

so bought another one.

Set off one of the screamers and it was dud, tried to set fire to it 3 times but wasn't having it.

So set another one off and they're well cool.

Set off a few of the big ones in the Wizard selection box, and they were ok, but nothing amazing, then we tried the smallest, fartiest rocket in the box, called magic vanish or something like that.

Expected it to be shit, but it set off loud and went off with a real loud bang.
Well impressed by it.

Bigger doesn't always mean better lol

Would recommend the place in Wallasey, very cheap. thumbsup

The fact that Joe returned to a lit firework 3 TIMES!!!! means a careful reminder is required....

Dont return to already lit fireworks peeps... if nothing happens...then just leave them...and douse them with water later on.

Better to be safe than to have 1 hand.

Then went to Rock Ferry to watch one of the lads from work set his off, £90 and they were crap lol

Then went back and set the rest of my fireworks off, which were crappy fountains so ended up putting them on the bonfire.

By the way, dont get oil on fireworks, they tend to shoot up, go off, come back down, and go off again, bit dangerous.

Great night though grin

Not sure mate, but I think whats burning in the photos is an old window frame, so maybe the paint on it had lead in it which made it turn purple?
