That's what I did when I needed a load of new 8ft ones.

You can get adapters but they're a bit hit and miss.

I've got some at work...don't know if they are good...think they've been used and put back in their cardboard sleeves...if you can wait till Monday you can have 4 of them

am not really in a panic for them but have just had another one go on me, have got to start replacing them for 6ft and sticking led's in them.

I got my 6ft ones from toolstation by lairds, about 50 quid for a pack of 10, think they also sell singles.
