One i boughtt from halfords few years back nothing special, just need the disc brakes looking at and the gears they slip when you put pressure on them.

Ok mite be worth taking it to them if it's a halfords own as for disc brakes are they cable or hydraulic ?

This guy has done mine a couple of times - can't fault him. He will collect and deliver back and is very reasonable

Can have a look on Sunday for free if you want?

Are the brakes hybollock or cable?

Have you had the rear wheel off recently? If so try and move the rear mech so it tucks in more as this can cause the gears to slip.
