ive always wanted a cat. i only thought of a dog most recently and if i had one then it would be great. but i was talking to my nan today, and she said a cat would be easier to look after with my job. im just looking out for the animal more than anything.

RSPCA cats home in wallasey, they will have some. They won't be free though and they may make you jump through hoops before you can have one (to make sure you're suitable)
Posted By: jpharrison Re: kittens - 15th Dec 2011 7:37pm
what are the normal costs of one from there? and 'hoops' as in what type of things would they like to know??
Posted By: keving Re: kittens - 15th Dec 2011 7:47pm
give them a call 0151 638 6318

They just like to do one or more home checks before you can have the cat, plus fill out questionnaire and have a little interview.
And it take a while before you can get the animal.

They did this to a lady I know, just wanting an adult rabbit to replace her rabbit that died of old age. They werent happy that she had a child so wouldn't let her have one!!

blimey! some of the extreme checks are unfair for the animal. its like, im after a cat, not under arrest! haha

eh this is for life and i think a cat is a good choice but i think one who like indoors due to your work conditions.
Posted By: jpharrison Re: kittens - 16th Dec 2011 4:08am
yeh i dont want it running off! haha or being a horrible alley cat frown
Posted By: keving Re: kittens - 16th Dec 2011 8:38am
it'll still escape sometimes, but will prob get scared and run back in, if its not used to being outside. The only drawback is you have to clean out he litter tray every couple of days.
Posted By: jpharrison Re: kittens - 16th Dec 2011 8:56am
cleaning up aint a problem haha

You can buy trays that automatically bag up solid waste then wash the crystals. You set the timing for washing say five minutes after cat has left tray.
It counts the number of visits so you can then replace the litter after say 20 visits.
Another good idea is a water fountain so you don't have to keep putting out drinking water
