You can hire them really cheap from the Red Cross in Birkenhead. Failing that, try freecycle or gumtree.

After the day I've had today, I'm resting. Not cried this much in a long time. Needles that big are not meant to go into knee joints when you're conscious frown

Oh yes, to keep on topic, might have an electric one in the garage, hasn't been used for a few years so not sure if the batteries are going to be up to much.

Have you tried Wirral PCT?

Check this link Wirral Wheelchair Service

My ex's new wife works for them as an OT. I have emailed her for advice.

I'm afraid the Wirrals Wheelchair service isn't at St Cath's anymore, they've moved they're now at

Wirral Wheelchair Service
Hind Street
Birkenhead
Wirral
CH41 5DA

Tel: 0151 604 7261 or 0151 651 1630

You can also contact them by email at: [email protected]

They're behind Birkenhead Central Station, right under the bridge to the tunnels.
My little boy has to have a wheelchair and we had to get it upgraded about 2/3 mths ago. They've not been there long...

Can you ask the hospital to refer to Occupational Therapy? (based in the same building) as they're the ones that organise the wheelchair for you.

Hope you don't have to have the 3rd operation and hope you get well asap [Linked Image]

You're looking at somewhere between 8-12wks for the OT appointment. I've finally got mine in a week and I've been waiting about 8-9wks now. frown

Posted By: DJ_Karl_David Re: Wanted: wheel chair - 12th Jul 2011 12:37am
Wheels i might have one knocking around in my nans. I will find out for you asap.

Posted By: Wench Re: Wanted: wheel chair - 12th Jul 2011 1:28am
I need replacement foot rests for mine if anyone's got any lying about anywhere frown

I've decided to "pimp" mine with CS95 (or MTP as it is rather lush) on the seat, sides & back, put some webbing on the back and spray the main wheel rims in DPM colours with all my Forces charity logos on it grin
